Okay don't read this unless you are caught up because I am about to go all-in with the spoils and my thoughts. Okay. First things first this story definitely doesn't deserve 5 stars. But I am still giving them because I am nice and how blown away I was with the cast... So to start of this comment. I didn't like this story at first. In fact, I ranked most of the chapters a 3 star at best... However. As I began to read more I slowly realized something. All of the main characters Hero, Ken, Kitsune, Irene, and Cloud are generic main characters, done well? What? What do I mean by that? All five of them follow after a sin characters clique. Hero, is the kid who is special and unique by having multiple Attributes, and wants to save a girl. Oh, how clever. Ken is the hot header powerhouse, who needs to learn to think more. Yippy. Kitsune, is the kid with a mysterious past who is looking for someone. Irene, is in the shadows or a sibling, who is better than her. And Cloud is a badass. All five of them are a main characters from a show. And that's the thing. All five of them are almost always together. It's like a story where you have a full cast of edgelords. But what makes that so cool and interesting to me? Because it simply isn't true. Each of these characters are shown to have mental problems... Physical problems... Or emotional problems... It is almost like a balance. The author has given us these generic main characters on the surface but you look a little deeper and you begin to see they all have some massive PTSD. I mean have you seen what is inside of Hero's mind? Its a landscape of blood... One thing I found myself loving was each character's interactions with each other. All five main cast members worked off each other really well in how they act and flow super good. Honestly, if each character was on their own it would be awful and a bore but by having them always bickering with each other you get this really lovely feel as they all act... Human? Yeah. I'll say it. To me, these characters really do come off as human. But it isn't just the characters I like. The world and how it is this thing that is built up is really interesting to me. We are given these random bits here and there about darkness and the cold of the world. This isn't just dark clique poetry either. From what we have seen, and from how the characters act, it is always night time, and it is always snowing. Okay, this review is getting kind of long... All in all with what I have to say Enforcers has these generic characters that can either work as casual mcs or deep mcs depending on how much you look. The monsters are pretty cool and we are learning more about them. The writing starts off as trash but is getting better with each chapter. Just. Give the story a read if you have the time. I guarantee that there will be something you will like.
