Oh, well, thanks for the feedback. In response, the simplest thing that I can say for the moment is that I write to get better at writing itself. The purpose of this novel is for practise more than anything else. I want to get attuned to having my own writing style. I want to get a feel for what it’s like to upload chapters on a regular basis. I want to pump out words with consistency, build settings for scenes on the fly and learn streamlined methods of creating characters with intricate personalities. I would also love to play around with dialogue, deliberating personalized methods to flesh it out. And, most importantly of all, I want to test out what works for me and what doesn’t. Secondly, I think it’s rather naive to believe that the first thing you set out to write will be a hit. Instead of giving myself unrealistic dreams, I am slowly working towards my goals with my own, customized action plan. I am not vying for anything that’s beyond me. I am writing in a genre that I am most comfortable with, because, once again, this novel is essentially written for me to get more comfortable with the act of writing itself. Along the way, I will experiment with writing other forms of literature, but I think it’s still too early for that at this point. I am not the kind of person who can just think of some crazy idea and translate it into words on a page in the form of a coherent narrative. I am someone that needs to break down all the core elements of something before being able to go anywhere with it. And that is exactly the approach that I am using in my writing. In addition, I can acknowledge that self-validation is something that plays a key role in developing a story. Stories are meant to be told to people, so the readers or listeners are a significant part in the whole evaluation process. I will be heavily relying on my readers’ feedback to plan the route that my story will take. Hence, I cannot be ignorant or half-hearted about their remarks. In that sense, yes, I am looking for some sort of acknowledgement from my readers, but I don’t really see it as something that would hinder me as much as it would help me grow. And, finally, I am sorry for making you read all of this. It’s just that I was not pleased with the comment about my lack of determination. While it is true that the story may not be going anywhere, that is mutually exclusive of the fact that I am trying my level best to make this story something that both my readers and I can be happy with. That is all.
