This probably has to do with the quality of research regarding modern medicine. Ancient Chinese medicine focuses more on superstition and correlation, whereas modern medicine looks directly at causation. Modern medicine isn’t perfect, but it sure is better than ancient medicine at treating people as a whole (the resukts speak for themselves). Comparatively, it isn’t wrong to call the large majority of acupuncture as pseudoscience.

I wonder what the quality/brand of one’s clothing has to do with their possessed medical skills. Sure, perhaps there is a correlation between degree of medical skill and personal wealth, ultimately leading to ownership of better wardrobes, but at the end of the day, the doctors operating on people are all dressed in surgical gowns.
