Even if it did it wouldn't matter nor affect you in any way, people seem to forget that.

They want to empathise with the characters and if they don't enjoy BL then it takes them out of that.

Nah, if they actually wanted to empathize with the characters they would have read the story, and realized it had no BL whatsoever. Instead we had about 10 1 star reviews, several of them by the same person, trying to "terrorize" people with, heaven forbid, the gays. It is one thing to immerse yourself in a story, you can do that regardless of your own or someone else's sexual preferences, especially in a story that doesn't even focus on romance in the first place. It is another thing to avoid it like the plague, and try to pretend that it doesn't exist simply because you disagree with it. This is a good example of how scared people are of something that in no way hurts, threatens, or affects them.

Some people don't like bl, is that hard to understand?

Doesn't matter if you don't like it, some people don't like dogs, will they stop reading the novel just because it has a dog in it? In a novel that doesn't really focus on romance, who cares what any of the characters sexual preference is? Does it affect you in some way if a character in a book likes something different than you?

No BL such a pity

That's oranges and lemon. BL will affect how characters interact and it's the same reason why some people don't like harem. If you still don't understand then you're a lost cause.

Not sure what you mean by "oranges and lemon". If a novel has no real focus on romance, BL is not gonna affect how the characters interact because they won't be interacting romantically. You seem to keep missing that part. I have a general dislike of harems myself, and I have also dropped many stories because they turned out to be harems. However, that is only because those stories generally focused on the harems, or harem members (damsel in distress subplots). There are also plenty of novels that have harems in them that I still read, because I can just ignore the harem if I like everything else about the story.

Just because you can ignore something doesn't mean other people can ignore it too... I, for one can ignore others' distaste towards BL in a story, something you apparently can't do... on the other hand, I'm not trying to stop you from doing this, it's just that I can't ignore others' distaste to people who show a difference in opinion towards theirs...

You know, I'd say you have a point, but you unfortunately lost it when you said that I can't ignore others distaste for BL in a story. In my first reply in this particular review (if you can call it that) I stated that the characters sexuality didn't matter, at all. Which, it really doesn't, but that was meant more as "Why are you making a review about something so pointless" than anything else. Everything I said afterwards was simply replying to people who felt like they had to justify the hate for BL. Go ahead, take a look at the other comments, I am perfectly capable of ignoring others distaste towards BL, but I am also fully open to discussion if they want to try and justify it, which they did. You on the other hand seem to love sticking your nose into other peoples conversations without actually adding anything beyond snide comments.

Oh, so you CAN ignore that, forgive me for misunderstanding your words... well then, I should then ask you, why wouldn't you lead by example? If you want others to try to ignore BL elements which barely affect the story, why don't you start by ignoring d.umb reviews which barely affect the story? After all, you CAN ignore it, unlike me who CAN'T ignore some things...

Oh gosh why didn't I think of that? Wouldn't the world be such a wonderful place if everyone just ignored everything? I'm so glad you decided to reply to my comments with this nonsense, clearly showing that your "ignoring" technique doesn't work in the first place. You seem to enjoy trying to take things out of context so I'll straiten it up for you. I don't care if people ignore BL elements in a story, I never said I did. I stated that it doesn't matter if a story has BL in it, cause it doesn't affect you, or me, or anyone else. You can't compare ignoring a review, which can negatively affect a novel, to ignoring an element within the novel (or an element NOT present in this particular novel) which can easily be ignored if said novel isn't even in the romance category. You should probably give up on this whole....whatever it is you are trying to do. Please try thinking it through a bit more before you reply next time, thanks.

So, you have no problem with people showing distaste toward BL elements in a novel? Then why comment at all? To create controversy? You sure got a small debate going on here, but it won't go anywhere... and anyways, I already told you that I can't ignore these things, while you seem to say you can ignore those, so if you can ignore things why don't you? The fact that you won't ignore it means that you mentally can't ignore it in the first place, that's my take on "ignore what you" mentality at least... And a review which can negatively affect a novel? What will affect a story more, the elements within the story itself, or a comment written by some dude as a bad joke buried within hundreds of other such comments with their own specific tones...

Once again you can't read at all, I said "I don't care if people ignore BL elements in a story, I never said I did.". Seriously if you can't even read a basic sentence just stop replying to me. Again, you are stating nonsense, you want me to ignore something that I never said I would ignore, READ. A review can negatively affect a novel, yes. If none of these "BL or not BL" reviews were posted, people would read the novel, and understand that there is not even a little BL in this novel. Because these non-reviews are posted homophobics instantly assume it is BL, whether it is or not, and start review bombing the novel, which is what was happening before they all got reported and deleted. Last time I'm gonna say it, read before you reply to me or I'm just gonna assume you are just trying to harass me.

I appreciate your effort to educate the ignorant and narrow minded of this world. Sadly it's mostly a lost cause.
