LIKEHeh. I don't remember exactly, but originally the categories were labeled "For female readers" and "for male readers" or something similar and there was a big outcry about it, for obvious reasons. Seems they're still using those ideas when deciding which "gender" to assign a novel. ...Not that it's worth worrying about. Every book we can "vote" for will "win" the vote in 3 weeks max. Last time a book legitimately lost 3 weeks in a row they pushed it through anyway by "giving" us a reward by pushing through all the voteable books at once.
I am not into BL novel. I wanted Famale Mc, that's why i choose female lead section, who know that webnovel lie us. It's so disgusting how @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL discrimination and deceived us. Please Add this BL novel in male lead section. And Add GL novel in Fenale lead section. Also hope @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL picked GL novel.
Well, but the novel was still tagged as LGBTQ+ so it's quite obvious that it would involve those elements. It's just your fault for not noticing it. As for why it was in female lead section? I can only say that it revolves around the element love and is mostly preferred by females so, yeah.

Very much correct the Japanese even has word for it βFujoshiβ. And Im pretty sure if not just the cover but also the description and tags it very much conveyes that it was YAOI.
the sections are not separated into female protagonist and male protagonist they are separated in FOR men sections and FOR women sections and bl are usually stories for the female audience if they are female or male protagonists this is in the tags and bl are stories FOR the female audience
I don't agree with you. The novels in the Male Lead could also be FOR Women audience. Female Lead. Male Lead. You would expect a FEMALE PROTAGONIST for the Female Lead and a MALE PROTAGONIST for the Male Lead.
I am not saying that stories are necessarily separated for each genre I'm saying that they are separated into genres that normally men or women will like for example action stories, adventure and etc are usually for the male audience, and romance stories are usually for the female audience just as bl is usually read by most women I don't know if you can understand what I'm trying to say
