The author did a good job in revealing the layers of the main characters gradually as the story unfolds. The male character Yan Rusheng, although suave, handsome and wealthy, came across as a bad-tempered womanizer at the beginning of the story. But as the plot thickens, a deeper and hidden side of him was being unveiled as he struggled to understand what is love. It felt like the reader is discovering his love for the female character at the same time as he did. The female character Wen Xuxu, was portrayed as a talented, charming and unyielding character. The later chapters explain why she was so well-loved by her foster family, friends and her admirers. The story also hints at the secret she had kept from everyone, especially Yan Rusheng. The supporting characters were all well-written especially Jiang Zhuoheng. He was portrayed as the perfect boyfriend who would leave girls swooning over him. He is devoted, filial, gentle and thoughtful. The story also balances the romance with other themes by highlighting how close-knitted the Yan family and Wen Xuxu were, and also the relationship between Wen Xuxu and her grandfather.

LIKESAME thank you! Ugh tired of these “womanizer “ tropes. Like no? He’s just a man ho ??? Why is this quality being praised???
LIght_Novel_San:If he f u c k s around before finding himself falling inlove with the FL then i'd rather not read it. It doesn't make me feel the process of love but it pisses me off.
There's a lot of talk (in-story) that he fools around, so it's up to you to decide if he actually does.
ChocoLatte:You know what's funny. We are questioning the translator if he is actually a jerk that screws around elsewhere before meeting or when he starts to be with the FL but there's no response. It seems like this is the case of a jerk who can't keep to his pants. Nope. Not voting it.
