Review Detail of EternalEden in Overgeared: Emperor of Midnight

The one star is more for balance to make the rating closer to what it actually is. If I had to give a real rating, it would be 4 or 4 and a half stars. There is real quality here, and aside from a few gripes listed below, it is honestly quite good. The story IS rather good most of thetime, I can certainly say that. Though it does have a bit of a rocky start and takes a bit of time to get good. Also, the romance is a bit cringy to be honest. Not only is the main character essentially a role player which feels rather awkward at times. Not only that, but the story follows the extremely overused cliche where the love interest is a non-human who's been treated so horribly by others that merely showing them common decency somehow means the world to them and makes them instantly start to develop feelings. And as usual, they start off as a servant/slave that is treated semi decently, until their relationship becomes something more. Also, the story is very good at giving details and descriptions. However, sometimes it goes overboard and drags scenes out longer than they need to be. Especially when the story constantly praises and fawns over the main character for being so beautiful, mysterious, special, and any other positive adjective you can think of. It's excessive. Despite all of this, it is still a very enjoyable story that is worth the read.
