I have a theory of why and how the prince had died... While reading this, Elira's cousin saw blood splattered everywhere, on the carpet, window and couch... So it is safe to say that Elira died due to blood loss... As for the reason he was killed, I believe it was because Elira was seen as an incompetent heir by the others.

The story is confusing in my opinion but to me, it feels like this story could work... There are many things that can definitely be improved though...
