i agree with shortening the case, it felt logical and didn’t seem rushed to me. i also like how PJ is questioning House’s methods because the dude is just out of pocket and it would be really concerning if PJ just went with it. But i agree with some of the other comments and i hope PJ doesn’t become a bleeding heart archetype, while he is basically a psychopath one can’t deny that House almost always solves the case and his methods have solid merits
2. Also I had this issue of PJ with the dichotomy of Machiavellian thinking—doing whatever it takes to diagnose a patient—planned almost from the beginning of the novel. House obviously has no problem with the 'end justifies the means' mentality, and it's something I want to explore in more depth with my character. How far is it 'right' to cross that line? if this story was an action/adventure novel i would agree with the review but it’s a slice of life. if PJ suddenly gets a katana and starts fighting dragons it just wouldn’t make sense in the story and setting. this is webnovel so there are always readers coming off the chinese fan fictions and being disappointed that there isn’t blood and face slapping
