Status: 1200+ chapters , completed, epic storyline MC isn't an unfeeling blob nor is he an edgy psycho. Falls into the neutral or chaotic good camp, so sorry if you wanted a villain. However i feel that this story has perfect balance between its many elements. What I like is that the mc makes a genuine connection with the world and people around him and there are plenty of likable side characters. The villains provide a real sense of threat despite the mc being quite OP to be frank. One of my biggest complains with trial read webnovels is that often times the only interesting part of the story is the power system, the world building or some other gimmicky mechanics, and while that is enough to keep my interested in the starting part of the story, once the mc becomes powerful enough i just stop caring, it's not just about lowered stakes its also cause some mc don't really form any meaningful connections or friends or have anything that they genuinely care about, which imo is a very important part of having a soulful and engaging narrative. This story has that good stuff, it's not too much but its there, which makes it worth it. Do give it a try.

yeah Interesting characters need motivations and base level of complexity. pure evil can be a cool idea but as an actual person not someone relatable I guess. I used to think yanderes are a cool concept and all but most adaptations of the concept just feel cringe or just sad to me. one reason is that most authors kinda treat them as tropes without any character arcs. In a way killing random people for no reason is actually edgy. Someone with a basic code or some kind of motivation or goal is more interesting imo.

i think it's more than just that... the lse keywords are probably Chinese characters and thus the actual meaning can be slightly off. while maintenance might be a direct translation. Protection might be a valid interpretation of that character in Chinese. Basically like some words can have more nuance to them and just cannot be translated into English directly. the translator should have put in a note or something to explain the actual meaning of the word, but long gone is the era when webnovel used real people as translator. now 90% is readable mtl

So I read the mtl. 2000+ chapters. Pretty epic book so far. Some interesting twists, and since the main world characters are based off the cthullu mythos, it's pretty good.
