Not nearly far enough I'm the future. They are probably around 1,200 years on the long side. It's only been a bit over 400 years for mechs when the Age of Conquest ended which I'm not sure if we have been given a hard number for how long but I believe it's was about 400-800 years for that.

he should go just even to get some new stronger spells that could improve his connection to the elements faster. sure if he stays in the dragon world until he is a magus then he might be powerful but his ability to get new spells would become much more difficult. Not to mention that his friends will think of him as dead for 5 years after only meeting for a week? They could lose that bond they have now and even if they could become friends once again they will have still lost that childhood bond which can go very far for many people.
