Chapter 6

French Lecture!

Immediate the lecturer entered the class, he asked about his assignment but found out majority of the students hadn't done it so decided to add bonus marks to those who had done the assignment as a sign of encouragement but his only condition was, you had to present the assignment in front of the class to prove you actually did it. Immediately he said that the number of people who raised their hands claiming they had done it dropped drastically. Sitting at a corner was Claire grumbling to herself saying how unprofessional the lecturer is. She is well known for giving her assignment to her lackeys for them to do it for her. This time around she gave it to Rebecca one of her lackey, who is a francophone to do it for her. After the lecturers announcement she didn't put up her hand again. Rebecca who was sitting to her left still lifted up her hand but was immediately scolded by Claire: "why is your hand still up? Didn't you see me putting down my hand? Do you think you are qualified to get the marks I can't have?" Rebecca became frightened and dropped her hand saying: "I'm sorry. It won't happen again I promise." The lecturer heard them discussing and immediately told them to keep quiet and listen to their fellow classmate. Candy, Daniel, Claris and some few students presented their work and it was approved by the lecturer who gave them 5 bonus marks each and continued with his lecture. Due to the fact that the presentation took more than half of his period, the class soon came to an end and he left the class. The lecturer of the next course sent someone to inform the class that he will be late but gave us some exercises to keep us busy.

Everyone was focused on their exercise when Claire came and stopped by Candy and snorted: "hope you're not over the moon because of some cheap 5 marks." She then turned and left with her lackeys. Daniel: "don't take her seriously. She spends her whole day acting like a clown unknowingly." The trio burst in into laughter and later on continued with their exercise. When Daniel noticed that Candy was done with her exercise he inquired: "I thought you were a pure Anglophone. How come you know French so well?" before Candy to replied, Claris answered: "yeah you're right she's a pure Anglophone who seizes every opportunity to study something new and French happened to be a language she wanted to know how to speak and write fluently so the girl immediately dived into it. And don't ask me why she is so good at it cause I myself am perplexed about that too." The lecturer entered the class and continued with his lecture and left when is time elapsed. Claris had an appointment so left when the lecturer stepped out of the class. Daniel told Candy to go for break with him but she declined saying she had something to do. Daniel didn't say much and left for break.

Canteen!

On his way to the canteen, girls get staring at him as if wanting to eat him. <Being handsome comes with its own disadvantages I must say.>

He ignored all the glances and walk as if he was the only one on that lane. He always puts on a cold and serious face when moving making people afraid to stare at him. He doesn't have the charm of a student but of a young prosperous man. If not for the fact that they sometimes see how he comes to school they would have thought otherwise. He went straight to the canteen, bought and returned back to class. On his way back, some girls mustered up the courage to greet him: "hey handsome." He didn't even glance at them. Talk less of replying but the girls were too fascinated by his beauty and didn't even mind. He returned to class, paced the food he bought in front of Candy and said: "Let's eat and I'm not taking "no" for an answer." She helplessly looked at him and replies with an "hmm." After their lunch, Claris returned and looked at the duos who were discussing while laughing suspiciously an asked: "what did I miss?" Candy: "you missed free food." Claris: "I know that's not the reason for this big grin on your face." Candy: "ohhh… Daniel was just telling me a story." Candy: "hmmm." The day soon came to an end. After two months, Daniel and Candy became really close and were basically always seen together in school. CAs were approaching which means tough days were coming since Candy literarily sleeps in school in order to study hard and well for the test followed by exams.
