The Siege of Shadows
The atmosphere in Alex's fortress had been tense since the revelation of Torrin's betrayal. His followers were on edge, still reeling from the shock of discovering that one of their own had been working with the enemy. But there was no time to dwell on the betrayal—the Demon King's forces were already on the move.
Late one night, the air grew heavy, thick with the promise of danger. Alex stood at the fortress walls, gazing out into the distance. The horizon was dark, but not because of the night. A massive, swirling black cloud of shadows was creeping closer, swallowing the stars as it approached. Behind that ominous veil, Alex knew the Demon King's army was preparing to strike.
"They're coming," Elena said, her voice quiet but steady as she joined Alex at the wall.
Alex nodded, his jaw clenched. "We've faced them before, but this… this feels different."
