Deep

The fish slipped within the currents with ease, its moves smooth and quick. Every other creature would get away before it, maybe out of fear of its size or respect for the mystical creature.

Within its clammed-shut mouth, Zarqa squirmed and groaned as she was squeezed under its tongue.

For how long was she trapped there, she had no idea. But a fair amount of time had certainly passed since she was swallowed.

The place was dark, hot, and wet.

But she was still alive. That was something.

She frowned as she wondered on what had happened. The fish had tricked her. And would drag her to the depth of the river to feast on her like many before her.

She would end down there, where no one would even find her body.

With that thought taking over, she stopped struggling against the huge mass of flesh and pondered on her gruesome fate.

Was there anything she could do to change it?
