Unspoken Confessions in the Night

Ember, determined to shift the mood, took a deep breath and said with a warm smile, "I am here to talk to you." The atmosphere lightened as they engaged in a conversation, seeking mutual understanding and support amid emotional turmoil.

"I want to ask you something too," Adrien said. "You go first," they both declared simultaneously, exchanging laughter.

"What is it you want to talk about?" Adrien insisted, prompting Ember to begin. "Actually..." she hesitated, "what about today?"

Adrien's expression changed as he recalled the events of the day, and Ember quickly said, "Let's forget about it. At that moment, I don't know why, but when I saw you..."

Adrien interrupted gently, "Ember, if you're not ready to talk about it, we can forget it."

"No, I will say it. Actually, when you're close to me, I feel really different. This feeling is unlike anything I experience with other friends. I don't understand my feelings at all when I'm with you," she confessed in one breath. Seeing Adrien's silence, she continued, "I'm trying to stop myself from feeling this way. If I say anything wrong, let me know."

Adrien, unsure of how to respond, looked away. Ember wanted to express more but hesitated, remembering her father's words, "Stay away from girls and focus on your career."

Taking a deep breath, Ember decided to leave, saying, "I'll be going back now. Take care of yourself. Bye-bye." As she lifted herself from the bed, Adrien held her hand.

"I have something to say to you. Why didn't you ask me about my situation from before?" he inquired.

Ember smiled, sat back on the bed, and replied, "Why should I ask you? Did you ask me when I shouted at you because of someone else's anger? Did you ask me when I cried while talking to you? You didn't ask me anything but comforted me, so I am doing the same. I told you before, I want you to consider me as your best friend. That's it." She patted his head, noticing his silent contemplation.

"I think it's too late now. I will go back, but if something happens or you want to talk, feel free to call me," Ember said as she left the room, gently closing the door behind her.
