"Is he following us?" Max asked Emilia as he continued to drive in the direction of Nathaniel's office.
Emilia turned around, watching the vicinity of their convoy.
It seemed that her brother had sent added men to keep her and Max safe.
He probably already knew, he probably sent Max to get her. Max charging in, demanding to retrieve her and take her away from Jay for the sake of publicity and jealousy was the perfect cover.
It fit in quite nicely with how most people saw him, domineering, demanding, and territorial. A man who didn't like to share his toys, but Emilia knew him better than that.
