Chapter 6: Reflection, Batman Begins (investigation) and Gacha roll

[At Alex House]

After entering his bedroom, Alex closed the door and placed his shopping bags beside the bed. Then, he lay down on the bed.

He needed to train with the new abilities and items he had obtained from the gacha, focusing particularly on the use of his inventory in fights. If he had used the crowbars in his inventory or fully utilized his stealth ability like Sun Jinwoo, he could have saved a significant amount of time and fought more efficiently. However, during the fight, he forgot about these options and engaged in a brawl instead. The stealth he used during the fight was the one he had honed in his previous life during missions.

Therefore, he needed to start reflecting on his actions and train his skills and abilities. Additionally, he felt that his current body was better than his previous one, thanks to the system and stat points. As a result, he had to adjust his control over his movements.

While lost in thought, he remembered that he had received some notifications from the system during his fight against the street thugs and after saving the girl. With a sense of curiosity, he made the firm decision to check those notifications.

So, Alex called out to the system, requesting to see the notifications. "System, show me the notifications," he exclaimed.

Looking at the rewards, his face lit up with a gleeful smile. However, his expression faltered as he came across the last mission. He knew that he would eventually have to confront them, but not this early. After pondering for a while, he deduced the two potential names he might have encountered: Robin and Artemis.

The former was known to bring trouble, while the latter seemed more manageable. If it turned out to be Robin, and if he had caught a glimpse of his face, Batman would surely launch a thorough investigation, keeping a close eye on him.

Robin had been patrolling the city when he received a distress cry. Swiftly, he made his way towards the location, an alleyway known for criminal activity in Gotham. Arriving discreetly, he carefully surveyed the scene from the shadows, his sharp eyes scanning the area.

To his surprise, he witnessed a young man, donning a hoodie, swiftly enter the alley with remarkable agility. Stealthily, the man approached two individuals who were threatening a girl and swiftly incapacitated them. He then warned the girl to leave before it was too late, positioning himself as a barrier against any other potential attackers. As the girl began limping towards the road, Robin decided to intervene.

Much to his astonishment, the man adeptly engaged a group of thugs, displaying impressive combat skills that left Robin impressed. It was evident that this young man possessed bravery and proficiency beyond that of an ordinary teenager.

While the man fought, Robin focused on studying his movements, attempting to assess his abilities. There was something unique about him that captured Robin's attention. It seemed as though he possessed a level of training and control surpassing what was expected at his age. The man's seamless dispatching of the thugs suggested a deep knowledge of combat techniques.

What intrigued Robin the most was, the man appeared to sense, being watched. He briefly scanned the area, but before Robin could delve deeper into investigating, the man swiftly scooped up the injured girl and fled from the scene.

Driven by curiosity, Robin discreetly followed them, ensuring he didn't alert the man to his presence. He observed as they made their way to a bus stop and eventually hailed a taxi, instructing the driver to take them to Thomas Wayne Memorial Clinic. Robin continued tailing them, his mind buzzing with questions about the man's intentions and his connection to the girl.

Upon their arrival at the clinic, Robin maintained a safe distance, observing from afar as the man carried the injured girl inside. He watched as the girl found solace in the man's comforting presence, expressing her heartfelt gratitude. It was evident that the man had saved her, and Robin couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. Nevertheless, he knew that prioritizing saving lives always took precedence over personal matters like flirting.

At that very moment, before the girl could utter another word, Robin blinked, and to his astonishment, the man vanished from sight. Robin was taken aback, his mind racing as he realized there was far more to this man than initially met the eye. It became apparent that he possessed an extraordinary ability to disappear from plain sight.

Contemplating the sequence of events he had witnessed, Robin found himself inundated with questions. Who was this man? What were his true motives? And, most importantly, how did he possess such extraordinary and elusive abilities? It was evident to Robin that this encounter was not a mere coincidence, sparking his determination to uncover the truth that lay behind the mysterious man's actions.

Robin returned to the Batcave, his mind still filled with thoughts of the mysterious man he had encountered. He knew that he needed to report his findings to Batman, his mentor and father figure. Making his way through the dimly lit cave, he found Batman in the center of the command center, analyzing data on the main computer.

"Batman," Robin called out, drawing his mentor's attention. "I have a report on the incident I responded to tonight."

Batman turned towards Robin, his stern gaze fixed upon his young protégé. "What did you discover, Robin?" he asked in his deep, authoritative voice.

Taking a deep breath, Robin recounted the events he had witnessed in the alleyway, carefully detailing the man's actions and abilities. He described the man's agility, combat skills, and the uncanny moment when their eyes met. Robin emphasized that the man's suddenly vanished indicating his stealth ability.

"There was something different about him, Batman," Robin concluded, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity. "He was no ordinary teenager. It was as if he possessed skills and knowledge beyond his age."

Batman listened intently, his analytical mind processing the information Robin provided. He knew that his young partner had a keen eye for detail.

As Robin finished recounting his encounter with the mysterious man in the alleyway, Batman's mind started working through the available information. The description of the man's skills intrigued him.

Then Robin completed his report. "I couldn't see his face clearly because he was wearing a large hoodie that covered most of it. But his actions and skills indicate that he is someone worth keeping an eye on."

"It seems we have a new player in Gotham," Batman said, his voice filled with a mix of caution and curiosity. "His actions align with those of a vigilante, but we can't jump to conclusions just yet. We'll have to cross-reference this encounter with any recent criminal activities in the city, If this new vigilante is indeed operating in Gotham, we should be able to find some evidence of his presence."

Batman activated the Bat computer, displaying surveillance footage from the area where the incident took place. He zoomed in on the hooded figure, analyzing the movements and techniques displayed during the confrontation. With each passing moment, his analytical mind pieced together the clues, formulating a plan for further investigation.

"We'll need to cross-reference this encounter with any recent criminal activities in the city," Batman stated with unwavering focus in his voice. "If this new individual is indeed operating as a vigilante in Gotham, we should be able to uncover evidence of their presence."

Robin, however, voiced his own thoughts. "I don't believe he is a vigilante," he said, expressing his skepticism. "It seemed more like a spontaneous act to save someone in the moment. But what really puzzles me is his exceptional skillsets. It raises questions about whether he is a metahuman, like Kid Flash, or if he underwent rigorous training."

Batman paused for a moment, considering Robin's observation. He knew his young protégé had a keen eye for detail and often offered unique insights.

"You may be right, Robin," Batman replied, his voice thoughtful. "The skills he displayed were remarkable, suggesting some form of training or natural ability. However, we can't discount the possibility of him being a metahuman. We've encountered individuals with extraordinary abilities before."

Robin nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. "If he is a metahuman, it opens up a whole new set of questions. We'll need to dig deeper into his background and try to uncover any information on his abilities."

Batman agreed. "Our first step should be to identify any similar incidents or reports of unusual occurrences in the city. If this boy has used his skills to intervene in other situations, there may be witnesses or evidence we can track down."

"Good work, Robin," Batman commended.

Batman was contemplating their next course of action. "We will need to gather more information before making any conclusions. Stay vigilant, Robin. We don't want any surprises."

Robin left the Batcave, and Batman began his investigation.

After knowing batman might be on my tail. I decided to get stronger and decided to start training.

I was thrilled to acquire such useful items. They will be invaluable for conducting reconnaissance before I engage with any challenges.

After viewing the rewards, I was filled with such joy that I burst into laughter. However, realizing my surroundings, I swiftly stifled my laughter before my grandma had a chance to reprimand me.

Okay, while it may not be the most exciting thing, I recognize that this skill can be highly beneficial. Therefore, I need to begin training and diligently complete missions in order to earn more stat points.

Now I'm in serious need of a base. Gotham is known to have some abandoned spaces in the sewers. I should go and search for one.

I noticed that it was already past midnight, so it's time for me to get some sleep.
