Chapter 6

Jacob's P.O.V.

School was fine.

It was my first day, but I was joining at an odd time so the semester had already begun some weeks ago.

Fortunately and unfortunately, no one seemed to be interested in me.

It was good because that meant that no one was trying to pick on me and bad because I was lonely.

Sad life.

It was the third period and I had U.S. History. I had a map of the school with which I'd been navigating the school. Somehow, I managed to find the right classroom.

I was about to enter the class, heavily relieved that I found the right classroom when my face was smothered with a shirt.

Daeng! Who now?! That's the second time in one morning. Not cool.

I looked up to see who it was, only to land my eyes on the same guy from this morning.

And he looked gorgeous.

How many times do I need to tell you to shut up, now?

"S-sorry!" We both said at the same time.

A flash of recognition passed through the guy's eyes.

"Oh, its you, from the morning." He said.

"Yeah." I said.

He nodded his head. "I see. You joined this school from today?"

"Yep, my first day here."

"Hmm." He said, nodding again and then going in.

This guy abandons the conversation midway every damn time!

I just followed him in.

He went and sat down with a girl, while my lonely self sat down all alone.

People had been giving me curious glances the whole morning and I'd just gotten used to it by now.

I just hoped this day would go by without any calamities.

William's P.O.V.

I sat down next to Liz, whom I shared this class with.

"Hey." She said. She didn't look like she was in a particularly good mood.

"Hey." I said.

"Who was that guy right now?" She casually asked. I could tell she wasn't really interested in chatting, but she was doing it anyway to distract herself and hoped that I wouldn't notice anything wrong.

I just knew her too well for the last part to work.

"Uh, just some guy I bumped into this morning. Like, literally bumped into." I said.

"Oh?" She said.

"Everything okay?" I asked.

"Yep, of course it is! Why wouldn't it be?" She said, totally faking her "okay"dness.

"Just spill the beans." I said.

"Was I that obvious." She asked.

"Uhuh." I said.

"Fine. Will you come with me to a movie tonight?"

I was taken aback.

I did not expect that.

"What?" I said, perplexed.

"Just tell me. Will you?"

"Um, yeah? What movie and when." I said.

"I don't know what movie. Just 8 pm at the local theatre." She said.

She doesn't even know what movie she's inviting her friend to. Lovely.

"Uhh, okay." I said, still not quite getting the whole situation.

I waited for her to explain further, but that didn't happen.

"Okay." I said again. "You're not going to say anything else?"

"Whats there to say?" She said, almost innocently.

Almost.

"Just… will you tell me what the heck is going on? You don't seem okay, then you ask me to come with you to a movie and you don't even know what movie it is. You expect me to just accept it the way it is?" I said.

She sighed.

"Fine. Kyle asked me to go with him. But I don't want just the two of us to go. So I asked you to come too 'cuz I don't have the heart to say no to him as I've done it way too many times." She simply stated.

I was about to respond but the teacher came in at the moment, so I couldn't speak further.

The whole period I was busy figuring out what exactly she said and what was the motive behind her words.

When the period finally got over, I quickly took the chance to talk to her.

"You mean, Kyle's been asking you out? Like a lot?" I asked. "You figured it out, then." She said.

"He likes you?" I asked, still perplexed.

"Yep. That is, I'm pretty sure he does, though he's never said it out to me." She said.

"Wow."

"Look, Will. Well talk about this later. I have to go to class now. I have a test for Japanese and I've studied like crazy for it. I'm not missing it or getting late for it for the world. Bye." Saying so, she ran out the class.

"Hmph, stupid Japanese test." I said.

I still needed answers. It was clear that something was going on here and I needed to know what it was.

I just packed up my bag and left for the next class, AP Chem.

On the way out, I bumped into a guy, again.

What the actual f***.

Thrice in a day?

And it also happened to be the same damn guy.

Why.

He dropped his books because of the bumping in and quickly picked them up, looking slightly flustered.

"H-hey. Sorry about that. I wasn't looking." He said.

Why the heck would he apologise? It's not even his fault. It's mine.

"Um, you don't need to apologize for my mistake." I said.

He just chuckled nervously.

He was cute. Like a baby.

Okay but whaaaaaaaaat?!

"Um, what class are you going to next?" I asked, aware that I'd left the conversation midway both the times we'd bumped into each other.

"Ap Chem." He said.

"Oh, that's where I'm headed too!" I said.

I was slightly excited about having him there as well because I'm always alone in Chem and it would be good to have someone to go with, today, for a change.

"Oh, mind if I tag along?" He asked in his soft voice.

"Nope, not at all." I said.

And so, we started this awkward long journey.
