ON HUNDRED AND EIGHTY EIGHT

Whiz ran the surveillance as far back as we can see, confirming Clyde and Jessica didn't come alone, with their entourage hovering a few yards behind but still, our guards were able to identify them.

"Do we need to get Jerome involved," Whiz asks but my thoughts had already gone there and returned.

Shaking my head, "it was Clyde," I instantly remembered. "Jessica set her brother up with Clyde." I hated the knowledge of that. "I can't put him out there again. With Jessica on Clyde's arm, confirms, they cannot be trusted." I whispered to myself, having another thing to hide from Jamie, who has only just recently decided to walk beside me on our new journey of life, circumstances have redirected us too.

Looking down on Whiz's head, "Jerome saw this?" I asked curiously.

Whiz's hand froze on the keyboard, spinning in his chair, frowning deeply.

"Come to think of it, he didn't seem surprise to see them together, but he was shocked and then afraid when he saw them in the village," Whiz spins back his chair, while I pulled out my mobile.

Cam answered on the second ring, "Gray," Cam answers mockingly, since he heard why Jerome calls me by no other name than, Gray.

"Get that out of you system, faster" I advised him impatiently. "We have problems on this end." I started, but Cam chuckled dryly.

"Yeah, I know" he informed me lightly, "Jerome called." Was all he said and it was all he needed to say.

"And?" I wondered out aloud.

Breathing heavily on the other end, "Your entire family and some of the guys can move ASAP, but there's still the question of the Lawrence girl." Cam enlightened me and also reminded me of my additional problem.

The only person needs informing is my mother, because Jamie already suspects Angela is in my possession, but she made a decision to support me so far without any labeled conditions.

Satisfied everything's in place, "one more thing," pausing, "I need to have a nursery to show Jamie when she gets there tonight." I instructed, but Cam already knows, it's a silent plea.

"Done!" He chuckles dryly on the other end.

"Right" I responded, ready to hang up. "See you later, I guess!" I added before hanging up.

"Keep monitoring for as long as you can, instruct the guys to start packing and cleaning up the place, everyone else can move into the cabin, as guests of the new owners." I instructed over my shoulder, while walking out of Whiz's makeshift office.

Making long strides towards the cabin, lost in my thoughts. Did Jessica willingly make the decision when she led Jerome to be slaughtered by her new family?

What was all this about me hooking up with Jessica?

There's still a plan out there and my gut feeling is, Clyde getting to Jamie, while using Jessica as a pawn to eliminate me.

Whiz's close up van was parked outside the garage, loading what looks like furniture, realising Jamie already got the message from her brother, but how much did he tell her.

I hustle towards the back entrance, where Mrs. Stan stood, flustered.

"Logan, please tell me, we don't have to pack all of this?" She spun around, indicating the wares and groceries, because the kitchen equipment were here when we moved in.

Smiling, because returning to the Castle would be easy, since Cam ordered everything new for the kitchen, throwing out everything my grandparents owned, including wares.

"Actually, what we need is a supermarket run," I point to the refrigerator, "leave everything in there and the pantry, for the guys we're leaving behind." I tell her, happy with the wide smile on her face.

Hugging me, "I'm happy to be going home," she whispers, her smile vanishing, her eyes glossy with a far off look. "Thank you," she adds, pecking me on the cheek.

Nodding, remembering, Mrs. Stan has been in my life for as long as Ralph has.

"Yes, we're going home," I assured her softly, hugging her tightly, " I will not be able to move on, until I avenge my friend." I told her what she needs to hear and at the same time, reminding myself of a promise.

Drawing away form me, "Jamie'll be safe there, but when the baby comes, you won't be able to keep her imprisoned." Mrs. Stan says and I couldn't argue with her, because I intend to allow Jamie to continue her life as she originally planned, with rules in place, for hers and the baby's safety.

I ran upstairs to see Jerome sitting on the bed, his face hiddened in his hands.

"You good?" I asked moving inside the room without an invitation.

Jerome lifted his eyes slowly, his eyes red and swollen from crying.

Shaking his head in disbelief, "I tired not to tell her, I really tried," fresh tears started flowing from his eyes, putting me on alert.

"Jamie?" I whispered, wondering what he told her and how much.

Nodding slowly, I wait for him to continue, so I know what to expect when I finally go to my bedroom.

"What I didn't tell you, is that Jamie ask to speak to Jess one more time and I objected, which is why she got angry with me, but I couldn't when he told me they were a couple." Jerome confesses, wiping the tears that flowed freely as he spoke.

Covering his face again, but not quick enough to hide the fear in his eyes.

Pulling the chair at the desk in his room to sit, "I will protect you with my life," I promise the young man whose save my wife more than once and the man who continues to keep her safe.

Shaking his head in disbelief, "how could she hate me so much, Gray?" Jerome cries softly. "She almost got me killed, in fact it was so horrible, I actually wanted to die." He admitted to me for the first time.
