CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SEVEN

I sat and ate comfortably listening to everyone at the table chastise Logan for calling his pregnant wife fat!

He tried explaining himself, but it's an unwritten rule. NEVER CALL YOUR PREGNANT WIFE FAT!

Logan's aware of that now, even though there will not be another pregnancy for us to go through together, because I have no idea what life has in store for us in two months.

My mind started to drifting off into the future, in case I'm no longer here.

Everyone would have moved on and forgotten all about me, even my baby!

I would no longer be the love of Logan's life!

I look up from my plate to see him chatting with Justin, whose reminding him to remember the rules during the second pregnancy.

But there will be no second pregnancy for me. Logan's second child will be with someone else, whom he will fall in love with. Someone he will grow old with. Someone who will do all the things, I could only dream of doing, with him.

Logan suddenly looks across at me, frowning deeply, while I continue to gaze adoringly at him.

Conscious that the voices around were slowly disappearing as I find myself locked in a different dimension, alone with Logan.

Logan isn't mines, because if he was, we would have a lifetime together, but all I possibly have is two months, tops and I have to make every second count, which will be difficult with Logan fighting to remain alive and off his younger uncle's radar.

The loud clapping close by, jerked me out of my pitiful thoughts, unlocking the doors from the separate dimension Logan and I were locked in.

"So there's news," Jer was saying, standing up, slowly started getting everyone's attention. "Actually, it's the best news ever and I owe it all to my brother-in-law, Gray," Jer lifts a glass to Logan, smiling happily but he also seemed emotional about whatever he owes his brother-in-law for.

A few of us were lost as to the reason for the toast and the occasion, but still they lifted their glasses with alcohol, while my glass of water, remained on the table.

Putting his glass down, Jer turns to me, "I just hope my sister shares her husband's sentiments for the gift he gave me"Jer was saying and I turned to Logan frowning curiously, aware of the smirk on Justin's face.

Lifting my shoulders, feeling like the only lost soul at the table.

I looked on at Jer expectantly, waiting for him to elaborate on what we're celebrating tonight.

Lifting my eyebrows, I nod for him to continue.

Smiling nervously now, Jer lifted one single key attached to a key chain and one thing I can confirm, is it that it's for a vehicle.

Twitching my lips, I fought not to ask questions while everyone else is silently awaiting the climax of Jer's speech.

"Gray bought me a brand new SUV, earlier today," Jer says, softly yet excited, while I gasp in surprise.

This is a very extravagant gift, even for Jer.

Worried and upset that Logan made a decision like this without discussing it with me first, threw me, but again, I fought the urge to start yelling at both Logan and Jer.

When my eyes met Logan's he was all tensed up waiting for my reaction and by the stance he's already taken, he's expecting me to yell angrily, but I nod and turn back to Jer with a soft smile.

If I am gone, I would be eternally happy to know my brother still has a family who'll keep him safe with them, once he's willing to stay and continue being a part of their family.

The SUV was parked at an angle, where we could all see it and it was indeed beautiful, if you're into vehicles as a pride and joy and not as a necessity.

While everyone gushes over the vehicle, walking off to check it out under the dim lights, I remained at the table. Just Logan and I.

"Aren't you going to blast me to hell and back?" Logan asks quietly, challenging me from where he sat, opposite me.

Cautiously I politely smiled at him.

"Now why would I do that?" I responded, in the same quiet tone.

Other than twitching his eyebrows at me curiously, Logan remained still.

"So you approve of Jerome being the owner of brand new SUV?" Logan continues, waiting for me to explode.

Shrugging slightly, "do you expect me to disapprove?" I responded, fighting the urge to explode.

Curling down his lips, Logan looked away and took up the drink that's sitting in front of him, emptying the contents down his throat, wincing as the burning sensation of the alcohol flows down his throat.

Pouring himself another drink, Logan sat back in his chair and looked over my shoulder at everyone gathered around the SUV examining it.

Mom was the first to rejoin us at the table, taking the seat beside me, "you okay?" She asks and I smile and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm good," I answered, her eyes moving from me to her son cautiously.

"Logan?"Mom calls, " are you okay?" She asks him now.

Chuckling humorously, "just peachy," he says, shotting down the drink in his hand.

"I forgot how handsome you are," she smiles at him, in adoration.

Logan seem to self consciously slowly sweep a hand over his newly trimmed facial hair, with a smirk, adding to his sex appeal.

Chuckling, mom turns to me, bringing me into the conversation.

"Don't you agree Jamie?" She raised her eyebrows curiously.

I stare at Logan, who without flinching gaze head on.

"Oh he doesn't need a trip to the beauty saloon to help me remember." I responded to mom.

"Beauty saloon?" Logan repeated in disgust. "Oh no sweetheart," Logan laughs dryly, rubbing his head and face. "This doesn't need a saloon, it's all natural," he retorts, much to mom's amusement.

Chuckling,"the handsome, Prince Daniels."
