Chapter 2: Town

"Agh, I think I'm lost." Okay, now you may be wondering how in the hell did I get lost when I supposedly had the memories of this body? Well, let's just say what I thought was 3 kilometres was complete bullshit because I realised that this planet is about 100 times bigger than Earth, which is crazy. So yeah, I'm lost.

"Well, even though I am lost, I have found quite a few herbs which I can turn into various medicinal pastes, such as the healing paste I made earlier, as well as some burn paste which helps with burns and a tranquilliser solution which would be good for hunting. But I will need to be careful because, from my memories, these aren't things that are sold or even known. This is because of alchemists, and as we all know, alchemists usually only make pills, so pastes and liquids aren't commonly used, maybe except for poisons, but that's all."

"Hmmm, what's that sound…" "[splash] Yep, that's definitely water, please be a stream, please be a stream." "Yes, it's a stream." "Now all I have to do is follow this upstream on the way to the town, and I'll be there in no time flat." Several hours later. "Finally! I could cry, I finally made it!" "Why the fuck was the town so far away? I thought for a solid hour that I was going the wrong way, but I'm finally here."

After that dilemma was over I was faced with a new one.

"God, I'm hungry." As I make my way to the gates, the guards stop me and ask for a fee. "That would be 2 coppers for entry." "Here are the 2 coppers, senior." After passing the gate guards, I make my way around, doing some sightseeing since this is the first time I'm here. "It's different seeing it in person compared to someone else's memories."

"[Sniff sniff] What is that amazing smell?" I looked at where the smell was coming from and saw what seemed to be a steam bun stand. "Sister, how much for a basket?"

"Junior brother, that would be 3 copper tails." After handing her 3 copper tails, I look inside and see 10 buns. "Holy, I was just about to complain that it was so expensive, but I get 10 for just 3 coppers?! This can last me at least 3 days! Now I should be able to save up for lodging because I'm not going to need food for 3 days. I just need to make sure I can sell my medicines during that time."

While eating a steam bun I also start looking around.

"Wow, those buildings are beautiful. Seeing it in a manhwa and seeing it through someone else's memories can't even compare to the real thing. Like that's a real pagoda! I've never been overseas, so this is pretty cool, though I still feel pretty empty because I won't be able to talk to my family about it…"

"Okay, enough dwelling on what I can't change for now. Let's go find some lodging." After walking around some more and asking some of the locals where a decent inn was, I made my way to Ding Xiu's inn. "Boss, how much for a night?"

"2 copper a night without food, but it's 10 for a week with food and a tub of water." "Boss, could you make it 7, and I won't eat anything for the first 3 days." He looked at me up and down, then nodded.

'I'm pretty sure the only reason he agreed was because my clothes were all tattered from me escaping those attackers.'

"Thank you."

 After paying upfront, I went straight to my room, where I immediately took my clothes off and hopped into the wooden tub of water along with my clothes so that I could wash them.

"Shit! Fuck! It's cold! Damn, I forgot that normal people usually take baths in cold water when they don't have a house. Well, and here I thought I would fall asleep, but now I'm wide awake because of the cold water."

"Well, I guess it's not all that bad." After giving my body a thorough wash and scrubbing my clothes, I stood up and dried myself and made sure my door was locked. I then sat on the bed in a lotus position.

"Well, might as well try to cultivate." After attempting to use my cultivation technique, I quickly realised that I made a mistake.

"Fuck, that was stupid. I forgot how this works. My body can't handle Genuine energy now because I haven't even gone through the body Refinement realms. I should just remind myself of the realms quickly."

"Okay, then let's start with the gamer's body cultivation technique."

After doing various weird poses for approximately 2 hours, I think I started feeling the chi energy (it's called gang inergy in the manhwa but ima call it chi) the manual talked about, or the life force, which is what I'm pretty sure it is.

Now I know what's going through your heads, there's no way you could feel it that fast. Well, let me tell you! I'm pretty sure I can feel something flowing in me when I, for damn sure, knew I have never felt it before in my past life. It's pretty easy to notice something that wasn't there before.

'Okay, since I can now feel this energy, I can move onto the next page of this manual. Now I gotta memorise this long ass chant, I guess, while doing those weird exercises again. Well, shoot, my body is going to be burning tomorrow.'

After 1 gruelling hour of following the manual.

'I only managed to do one God damn full revolution. This is going to be tough.'

'Glad I did this by my bed because I can't even lift a finger after doing that intense workout.'

'Off to dreamland for me…[Cute puppy sounding snores]'
