Yang Rai flicked his finger and he set up 729 sets of rank 6 resources again. This time his plan was to just fuse them all directly into a tree. The energy began to swirl around with very little effort on his part. It took 14 days to finish but a new rank 6 tree was created. Excited to see improvement the spirits cheered gleefully.

"Papa, you're amazing!"

"Master, that was excellent. Making the tree so much faster."

"This is nothing. Compared to what you'll see after I make 80 more of these things."

"You're making another 81 rank 6?"

"Yes, you see I wasn't able to fuse the resources into the rank 7. So I am going to try fusing the trees together. I'll add more glyphs as needed to sustain their life force of course."

"This sounds like a massive cost in resources. Will you have to do this for each rank 7 tree?"

"I'm not sure but since I don't have any rank 7 resources at the moment I wouldn't be able to test it. Let's save that for another time."

"We will be rooting for you!"

"Let's continue then."

Yang Rai began the fusion process again and one after the other he created rank 6 trees. He got so good at fusing these materials together the time it took to complete gradually sped up. The last one he made only took him 7 days. He now had 81 rank 6 trees ready to be used as fodder for fusion.

"I'm going to attempt it with 9 trees first. If that doesn't work then I'll go to 81."

"I hope those will be enough for you, master."

"I believe in the 81 trees. However if it ends up not being enough then I'll just make far more."

"Understood Master, good luck."

Yang Rai began to fuse all of the trees together; it seemed as though it would work as intended; however, it failed to finish and the 9 trees returned to normal. The information he got from this was far more than expected. He noticed that the trees needed to be far more numerous. He then took all 81 trees and began the fusion again. This time the unfathomable amount of energy that was now being manipulated had a profound effect on the Artifact. Yang Rai could feel the Heavenly way expanding in response to its master's desires. This was an unexpected outcome. But the Artifact now felt damn close to the principles in the StarBoundary just before the world tree subtree was planted.

"I can do this. Let's continue with our advancement."

The 81 trees had a successful unstable fusion into 9 trees. Then the final step began. This one required far more control and finesse. All of his being and focus was on this fusion. He had come so far by now that it needed to succeed even at the cost of millions of glyphs. And all of the other trees. It didn't end up coming to that. Though his Artifacts inhabitants could feel that their master was going something unfathomable.
