Pros and Cons of falling:

Cons:

1. It makes the organs within your body slam against their surroundings like jelly in a washing machine

2. A sudden and unexpected fall can result in a rather uncool or inelegant response such as screaming or cursing

3. The rushing wind moving against you as you fall at a high speed without protective gear can be quite deafening

Pros:

You might land on something soft

As he lay on what he believed to be a safety mattress after the unexpected drop Cane ran these factors in his mind, as to decide what his reaction to these events should be. Should he allow himself to lose his temper at Kira or get his revenge at a later date? Would it be for the better or worse concerning the outcome of this little adventure of theirs?

However, his thought process was halted as he felt his supposed "mattress" wrap its arms around him in a hug and let out an exclamation

"Whew! That was great!" chuckling the mattress or more aptly Kira spoke, "We should do that again sometime!"

Simply staying silent Cane sat up, so he was no longer using her as a makeshift bed and ran a hand through his hair, glaring down at her and causing her to shut her mouth quickly as she could see the extremely annoyed glint in his eyes, carful not to touch the mountains he had landed on

Sighing he just got off of her and stood up, straightening his clothes for what must have been the hundredth time today, and asked Kira as she got up "So where do we go from here?" indicating their surroundings and choosing to not talk about her negligence to warn him about the fall-through floor

They now stood in a large square room, the walls, floor, and ceiling were mainly made of steel with a few exceptions benign the hole in the ceiling they had fallen through, a large square of inbuilt mattress that they or Kira had landed on as she caught him and four wooden doors, each sitting in the middle of each wall, aside from that the room was nothing but a metal box

"*Ahem*" Kira cleared her throat, taking a slightly more serious expression aside from the never-changing slight grin on her face as she gestured towards the door to their left "this one leads to the club, the rest all lead to a serious of mazes that either lead to the sewers or awaiting firing squads" she explained before walking over and opening the door, filling the darkroom with light

As he walked through the doorway Cane couldn't help but let out a whistle, the previous room had been a metal box but this room was something entirely different. It was like treading through a portal, one moment nothing, and the next he was standing in one of the most exquisite fight clubs he had ever seen

From the door, a path led down a flight of stairs surrounded by a luscious garden, and once the path ended it bore a remarkable similarity to both a theater and nightclub. From where he stood he could make out a couple of bars and small shops as well as the waves of seats planted in rows above a large glass semi-dome that was situated as the centerpiece of the cavernous room, which he could guess to be the arena. And as he and Kira made their way down the marble steps he spied a couple of boxes situated above the arena, likely housing VIPs

" Welcome to The Midnight Brawl" Kira explained wrapping her arm once more over his shoulders and indicating around them with a voice reminiscent of an announcer "created under ten years ago The Midnight Brawl houses all manner of Scum, Villainy, and Fighters. Built around the concept of the roman blood sports it showcases fights between supers, animals, mutants, and civilians. You can fight one on one, with a partner, in a group or you can sit down and enjoy the show from our patterned seats!"

"...So it's a high-class coliseum" Cane summarised

"How dare you, sir!" Kira mock yelled, placing a heart over her breast and acting offended, which drew the attention of a few nearby visitors as they perceived her seven-foot frame and build "ill have you know that this is the pinnacle of all blood sports suppliers, many a mercenary and villain has made their fortunes within these very walls… now we must run so that I can book us a fight!" she finished before running off to one of the bars and beginning to speak with the bartenders

Letting out a chuckle Cane watched her for a moment before she turned sound gesturing for him to come over, the moment he joined her she shoved a flyer into his hands, giving him a grin and simply saying

"Choose"

Raising an eyebrow at her he began to inspect the flier, finding it to be a list of options for types of brawls and battles they could do tonight

The first was a simple two vs two, no powers, no outside interference, weapons were allowed and provided if needed. The second was near identical except it allowed the use of abilities and the list continued, some brought animals, added people, men vs women, challenging existing champions, blindfolded, deafened and even naval battles were an option, although the contestant had to pay for the ensuing water bills and it had a requirement of twenty people

He scoured the list for a few minutes before looking back to her and indication towards his decision, marked under the name "Horde"

Once seeing his decision the Bartender marked a spot on his checkbook, giving him and Kira an overall rundown "Within the Horde battle it will be the entering competitors against 20 formally untrained combatants, all criminals in their rights who understand some level of survival and street fighting know-how, all weapons and powers are allowed" he explained before asking "will it be until surrender or death?"

Kira answered for him

"To the death"
