The car's engine hummed in the background as they drove through the empty streets, the tension in the car so thick you could slice it with a knife. Every shadow cast by the dim streetlights seemed scarier than they should be, every sound outside the car made louder in the silence that had settled between Mia and Andrew.
Andrew's phone rang, making Mia jump.
He picked it up, "Claire? Yeah, Mia told me, she, uhh, went straight to me after you called. Yup we're on the way." He said into the phone.
Mia brushed off Andrew's awkwardness, she was too preoccupied with the situation to even worry about her personal relationships at this time.
