Off the grid II

(Chapter 63)

....

"Make sure you beat every single one of them charging through the middle." The words kept playing in William's head, as he dashed madly towards the middle.

"Play your part, and believe in the others." William said inwardly as he charged, several branches of veins were now bulging on his forehead, as he tried very hard to compress his yellow energy that was trying to force its way through.

Coming to a sudden halt he sighed, as he sat on the ground.

"Control your energy, don't make it to be wild or noticeable. I've been taught, meditate and...." He kept muttering a few more words, as he sat on the ground with legs crossed.

"Good, I think this is way better." He said under his breath. William's eyes were still glowing yellow however, his yellow aura had already been suppressed by himself. It was just to hard to control.

"Ungh!" Linton stood up abruptly, it seemed like he had noticed William's yellow energy from afar.

"I see....." Linton muttered, his voice filtering out as he retired back to sitting on the ground, accompanied with a light but scary chuckle. "I'll just leave things the way they are as I'm not ready to be troubled yet, neither I'm I foolish enough to engage in battles that have already had its winners."

"Gah! **Pants** **Pants***Pants** That took quite a lot from me." Shinsui spoke inwardly, as he slowed down for a bit. He had just been yelling at the top of his voice, and running for nothing. The only thing he had done in this battle, was to use his bird eyes technique. Since then, he had been close to useless. Albeit luck was by his side, as he had little to no scratches on his body even with this battle's intensity.

"I don't know why, but this feels very strange." Shinsui noted, his brain getting to work once more. "We were told to confront them, it was meant to be an ambush from them, not them coming to meet us. At first we were trapped, then our numbers dwindled. Only to find ourselves in tinto already. And the next day, we get surrounded. I think we've been placed off the grid." He noted.

**FWOOSH!!!**

Shinsui gasped as he was yanked from behind, a hand pulled the top of his uniform then tossed him backwards. Before he could blink twice, he was already on the floor. On looking up, he saw that an axe just missed his head by a few inches. However the person that had pulled him was now caught up in the attack as his left hand fell to the floor. In the process, blood gusted all over, spraying past Shinsui's face.

"No way!" Shinsui's pupils dilated, as he opened his mouth in awe. The person that had saved him, was the middle aged man that had saved one of the freshmen yesterday. In order words, they were in the same hunting group, which was only valid for yesterday.

Before the enemy could draw his axe back for another swing, a bullet went through his temples, sending him straight to the floor. And in no time, he was six feet under.

"What the hell are you doing?!" A soldier yelled at Shinsui, he was the one that had shot the enemy's temple with a pistol.

"Thanks man!" The middle age man that had his limbs chopped off mumbled, after he landed on the floor with his butt. One could clearly see that he was in severe pains, as beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.

"Let's tie his wounds up, and take him away from the battlefront." The soldier suggested.

Without saying a single word, Shinsui got into action. And after a few minutes, they had managed to tie the wounds, and slow down the blood. Thanks to Shinsui's little, very little knowledge of medicines and wounds treatment. "

"Now let's carry him and----"

"No!" Shinsui uttered. "Thanks to me trying to save myself, I have almost allowed another person to die. That's not what he would do." He concluded, referring to a certain person.

"I think I know what to do now, just forget about me, and take the man away." He spoke, running upfront and giving the fellow soldier no time to reply. All the soldier could do was sigh, and look at the man who was still closing his eyes in pain. Without further ado, he sprang into action as he helped the injured man up slowly, using his arms as support for the man, before walking him away from the battlefield.

"What I have to do, is to use my ability to scout every single place on this battlefield, and save those that are close to being ambushed, injured, or killed. And as I do that, I'll get to William's place to ask if there are any updates from the general." Shinsui said inwardly.

"One more time." He muttered, closing his eyes as he stood still. "Subverted energy!" A line of blood trickled down the end of his eyes that was closer to the ears respectively.

"Krrk!" He grunted, as he heard his heart beat louder than usual, he was really pushing himself to the edge.

"Screw you!" An enemy echoed, as he swung a club embedded with energy towards a soldier's skull.

"Eh?!" The soldier stood speechless, as the club neared his head. He wasn't expecting this, in other words; this was nothing less than an ambush.

However his life was given a second chance, when out of no where, an individual delivered a shoulder block takedown to the enemy, taking him out in the process.

"Hum thank you?" The soldier said, a little confused on the person's facial appearance.

Without giving a reply, the person continued to walk further.

"Erm excuse me, are you alright? You seem to be bleeding from the eyes." The person echoed, seemingly worried of his saviour's physical state. Nevertheless to the person's dismay, he was ignored. The individual didn't even mutter a single word as he walked away.

"Humph! Who are you giving the silent treatment Huh?" The saved soldier pouted, as the person that had saved him disappeared out of sight as he ran further. "Is he some sort of zombie? How does he see while his eyes are still closed?" The soldier mused, before breaking himself out of his reverie after remembering he was still on the battlefield. He didn't want what happened earlier to repeat itself. If not of the walking zombie, he would have died.

As the individual ran further upfront, his legs failed him for a moment, causing him to come to another sudden halt.

"Krrk! Just a few minutes more." Shinsui winced, as his body felt like it was been pierced at all sides with long and thin needles. His eyes forcefully switched from the bird eyes perspective to the normal however, it was forced back to the perspective by Shinsui. All these happening in five seconds.

Falling to his knees, he gritted his teeth as he struggled to get back up.

"Push yourself to your own very limit!" He yelled inwardly as he forced his own body to rise and continue running, as blood began to run down his nostrils.

.........

William was doing just fine down the middle, broken teeth, snapped necks, displaced joints, and bashed faces, were in their numbers lying lifelessly behind William, even though they were still alive.

William sighed, before a smile surfaced on his lips as he looked towards the sky.

"I think we are on our way to victory, seventy down how many to go?" He thought, while he stared at his right hand that was evenly balled into a fist. It had already been ornamented with blood.

"Just how far can this guy go?" Linton mused, as he watched the battle from afar.

"This guy is a monster!" An enemy thought.

"How is he still smiling after taking down a lot of us, and by the way isn't he aware that he has been surrounded?" Another mused.

"Kill!!!" Another yelled, as he charged further.

"Their unnecessary ululations would destroy my eardrums." William said inwardly. "I know the general would win, all I have to do is beat twice as much through the middle, and go back to assist the others." He concluded.

Due to their numbers, William was more focused on disabling a vital part of their body, instead of killing them. And miraculously, he hadn't even killed a single person. It was like this wasn't his first time doing something similar.

"I think I'm interested in that guy." Linton muttered. "Didn't that shorty mention that most of them were freshers? How's this one so accurate and experienced at fighting?" He stood, as he observed the battle with more intensity.

"The way he swings his arm, the only type of weapon that can work with that type of movement is..." Linton spoke, his voice trailing off towards the end, as a chuckle submerged his vocal cords.

"This is becoming easier to suppress, I can now draw out and withdraw my energy output at will." William thought, as he stared at his knuckles in amazement. More bodies had piled up, forming a heap of refuse behind him.

Unknown to William, his body had already been engulfed with yellow energy which didn't go unnoticed as his face was now shaded, while a lopsided grin surfaced on his lips.
