Interlude : Xia Qiu part 1

At the same time, in another location.

"Finally " mumbled Xia Qiu as impurities exited his body through his pores, this was the sign that he had reached the Dantian opening stage.

"Only a little more until I reach Soul Enlightenment and can finally use the Yin-Yang ring once again " thought Xia Qiu.

"I wonder how powerful Heaven-ranked cultivation techniques are " mumbled Xia Qiu as he thought about how much his cultivation speed increased when he switched to an Earth-Ranked Cultivation technique.

Compared to his old world, the cultivators of this world were much more powerful, even his teacher, who was nowhere near the peak of the world was much more powerful than him at his peak.

After this, Xia Qiu exited his cave abode and went towards his master's.

"Master " said Xia Qiu, when he was right outside his master's cave abode.

A moment later, Xia Qiu walked into the abode of his maste.

"Master, Senior sister " greeted Xia Qiu as he bowed.

"You can rise " said Lin Tengfei as he looked at his youngest disciple.

"I have reached the Dantian opening stage " said Xia Qiu.

"Good " mumbled Lin Tengfei, slightly shocked, a small amount of bitterness could be seen in his eyes, this went unseen by Xia Qiu.

"You should prepare to break through to the Soul Enlightenment realm. After that, I will finally be able to teach you my very own technique " said Lin Tengfei. A surprised look appeared on Lin Xue's face as she heard what her grandfather had said.

Lin Tengfei then took out a small pill bottle. "This is what is called a Soul Refining pill. It should be able to help you break through to the Soul Enlightenment realm." As she heard what her grandfather had to say, Lin Xue's brows became more and more furrowed.

"Yes master " said Xia Qiu as he walked outside of the cave abode.

"Are you satisfied with him?" asked Lin Tengfei.

Lin Xue wanted to answer her grandfather's question, but she was shocked to see a shadow materialize next to him.

"Yes, he is even better than expected " said the shadow.

"Should I give it to you or her?" asked the shadow.

"My potential has already been exhausted, you can give it to my granddaughter " said Lin Tengfei as he sighed.

The shadow examined Lin Xue's body before contacting someone.

A light appeared in the shadow's hand a few moments later. It then traveled from his hand to Lin Xue's forehead.

Lin Xue suddenly sat cross-legged as a Cultivation technique entered her mind.

As she saw the cultivation technique, enlightenment appeared in Lin Xue's eyes. Her aura started transforming from one at the Foundation Establishment realm to one at the Soul Enlightenment realm.

Joy appeared in Lin Tengfei's eyes as he looked at his granddaughter, back when he was young he had discovered the cave abode of a senior cultivator, in it he obtained an Earth Ranked Cultivation technique, from the inheritance he had discovered the three ways to reach soul enlightenment.

The only problem was that he was already in the soul enlightenment realm when he discovered it. As such, he kept it as a secret in his heart, only revealing it to his precious granddaughter.

Information about a cultivation technique continued to stream into Lin Xue's mind.

"Heaven Ranked Cultivation Technique, Pure Yin Art " mumbled Lin Xue as information about the technique continued entering her mind.

After looking at Lin Xue for a few moments, the shadow took out several pill bottles before disappearing.

Lin Tengfei breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the pill bottles in his hands. He then continued standing there, making sure that no one would disturb his granddaughter's enlightenment.

At the same time, after Xia Qiu exited his master's cave abode.

"I'll finally be able to surpass senior sister's cultivation base " though Xia Qiu.

For some reason unknown to him, Lin Xue's cultivation base was stuck at the peak of the Foundation Establishment realm, leaving her unable to progress, his master had not told him the reason for it.

Xia Qiu felt a hand grab him, he then lost consciousness a moment later.

The shadowy figure then appeared, taking Xia Qiu's unconscious body before disappearing.

An unknown amount of time later.

As he woke up, a terrible feeling of dread entered Xia Qiu's mind.

"Where am I?" thought Xia Qiu as his eyes were covered.

"Who dared kidnap me? " thought Xia Qiu, completely irational. Unknown to him, a large amount of Yang Energy entered his soul and was clouding his judgment.

As his anger took over, the ties, which were supposed to be completely unbreakable for those in the Foundation Establishment realm, started burning.

After his hands had gotten free, Xia Qiu used them to free up his vision, making him able to see where he was.

After that, he got up and looked at his surroundings. Right now he was in a dark dungeon, in a cell surrounded by countless others.

As he approached the door of his room, Xia Qiu could see a slight light emanating from it.

Seeing that it was a formation that kept the door in place, a smile appeared on Xia Qiu's face. He then sat down as he accessed his sea of consciousness. Because of his past life, Xia Qiu could already access it. The only problem was the fact that it had become extremely fragile after reincarnation, as such he had to be cautious.

A few moments later.

After using a secret technique to retrieve things from his sea of consciousness, Xia Qiu felt a headache.

Xia Qiu smiled as he looked at the storage bag in front of him. Even the stinging headache he felt was slightly alleviated while he looked at it.

They were Xia Qiu's most hidden possessions. No one could know of them, they were mostly obtained from the two inheritancences he had obtained.

He then took out an array-breaking blade and slashed at the door.

The door to his cell was slashed right open, letting Xia Qiu leave. As he exited his cell, he then looked at the countless other cells before slashing a few of them open and beginning to run.

A few moments later,

As cultivators emerged from their cells, they immediately disappeared in different directions completely ignoring each other.

Several cultivators clad in black robes emerged arrived a few moments later, and started chasing the cultivators.

At the same time,

A cultivator in a white robe stood cross-legged in his cell. He then smashed his hands against the door the moment he felt a flaw in the formation guarding this place.

The two guards at the door of his cell felt extreme terror as a something emerged from it.

They then ran away in terror at what had been unleashed.

Right now, Xia Qiu was digging through the dirt. He smiled as he felt the dirt above him hase less and less resistance.

A moment later, he emerged from the ground.

Seeing the blue sky made Xia Qiu breathe a sigh of relief. Just as he started fleeing in a certain direction, he saw a shadowy figure block him.

"You have caused me enough trouble " said the shadowy figure before punching towards Xia Qiu.

As he felt the threat of death, large amounts of yang energy emerged from Xia Qiu, helping him dodge.

After this, a fight between Xia Qiu and the shadowy figure began. Xia Qiu barely survived, using an enormous amount of Yang energy in his every action, he even felt as if the figure was toying with him.

In the real world,

As they gazed at Xia Qiu, who was emanating large amounts of Yang energy from inside of the illusionary formation, a smile appeared on the shadowy figures's face.

He then took out a token before speaking in it.

"I have prepared him " said the shadowy figure to the token, before putting it back in to his storage ring.
