Nica called the camp for an extraction. They hid inside a large cave, existing from a crack between colossal borders, making a naturally-made hole. The downpour of rain still ravaged the land, the cave gave them temporary shelter, and Calyx checked their camosuits. Luke checked his Neurax worm canisters embedded with the arrows.

The disfigured stiffened body, a grotesque face, and an appalling scream never left Luke's memory. The sight of it haunted him. Command had given them information about their enemy, pictures, videos, and drawings, but seeing it for the first time gave him the chills.

"Extraction will be here. Ten minutes. We could be in a tight spot." Nica said.

"Why, we killed them already?" Luke asked.

"Yeah. But one sent a signal to others nearby. Maybe another scout groups. We should be ready. Kristo, Calyx, mount defense formation."
