Chapter 1

"Ryuuzaki Kasai! Stop spacing out!" An angry voice echoed in Kasai's ears. He shook his head and looked at the green-haired girl in front of him.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop spacing out!?" the green-haired girl said.

Just now, Eliot was thinking about how he ended up in Naruto's world 3 months ago. It was so unexpected that he freaked out while jumping around in his small room when he woke up and received the memories of the original Ryuuzaki Kasai.

Ryuuzaki Kasai was a 12-year-old kid from a small village attacked by Sunagakure. He was found by a shinobi of Konohagakure and was brought and sheltered in Konoha. Although Sarutobi Hiruzen sheltered some orphans caused by the war, the original Konohagakure citizens were skeptical about those orphans, making his life somewhat harsh to live.

After 2 months of being sheltered by Konoha, Eliot replaced Kasai's soul. At first, he was timid, and locked himself in his place and did not attend the academy, but he was then forced by Fukushima Hina, the green-haired girl in front of him, to go back to the academy.

Fukushima Hina was also an orphan of war from a small independent village near the Iwagakure. Her family fled from the village after being attacked by rock shinobis. They managed to come near a Konohagakure campsite, but her parents weren't able to survive due to the wounds they acquired from the pursuit of rock shinobis. There at that time, they were rescued, but it was already too late for her parents. It was befitting to say that her parents were capable shinobis from a small village.

A week from now, he'll become a genin and be assigned to a team, which he was eagerly awaiting. Although it is scary to become a genin in this era, with war still ongoing, Kasai felt excited to be out and explore some places in Naruto's world.

"Are you spacing out again, Kasai!?" He heard the voice again, then, Bang! Kasai felt his scalp become numb after that punch from Hina.

For 3 months, Hina had always been by his side, which made them close enough to work in sync during a mock squad battle drill. Hina was proficient with wind release, while Kasai was skilled with fire release. Although she knew wind release, she wanted to be a medical ninja, so she always took the rear while supporting Kasai with long-range wind release she had mastered during a mock battle.

"Okay, okay! I'm sorry, I was just thinking about the graduation examination." He responded while scratching his head.

Right now, their class was in the stadium for a weekly squad mock battle. This would be their last mock battle before graduation and the finalization of their teams.

"We still have a week before that, can't you at least ease up a little? You might not pass with this habit of yours, you know?" Hina teased.

"No way! I'll be one of the strongest shinobi ever!" He protested and punched the air.

"Alright, Kasai. I hear you, now listen to me." His sensei, Aburame Hotaru, interrupted their little quarrel.

Hotaru was a jonin from the Aburame Clan, probably not from the main clan member since Kasai had never heard of his name from the anime. "In this drill, you'll be teamed up with Hina and Aoki. Now go to the stadium, and prepare for the start of a mock battle, against Haruto, Manaka, and Yumi."

Kasai stopped and looked at his sensei with a shocked expression. Aoki was from the Hyuga Clan, and he never had good memories with this Aoki. Both Kasai and Aoki had past grievances, where they both almost started a fight but were stopped by their Sensei. They always avoided each other after that situation, but now they are being teamed up.

Their classmates were surprised too and started to murmur among themselves, knowing that there was a terrible history between the two.

"No way!? Kasai and Aoki on the same team!?" Classmate 1

"For sure it'll be a messed-up team! Who knows if they will try to fight each other instead of fighting their opponents." Classmate 2

Kasai was silent and didn't voice out his concerns, whereas Aoki stood up and proudly said, "Sensei, I don't want to be on a team with outsiders. Would you please put me on a team with others?"

Hotaru ignored Aoki's complaints and told them to get ready and enter the stadium.

"We gotta see this match! It'll be a total mess for sure!" Classmate 3

oki went up to the stadium with Hina on their back and got ready.

On the stadium, Aoki positioned himself in front of Kasai and Hina, while on the other side, Haruto, Manaka, and Yumi stood together as a united front. Haruto and Yumi were both proficient in taijutsu and ninjutsu, while Manaka excelled in both and possessed medical ninjitsu skills. He had the highest scores for ninjutsu, but he had the lowest scores for taijutsu during tests.

"Listen. Kasai, you make sure to keep Manaka busy while I take care of Haruto and Yumi. Hina, stand by at the rear and provide support as you usually do."

Hina, who was standing at the rear with a kunai in hand, nodded her head. "Got it." She trusted Aoki, who was regarded as the class genius.

Hearing how Aoki commanded him, Kasai couldn't help but make fun of Aoki. "Yes, sensei."

Aoki glared in Kasai's direction before refocusing his eyes on their opponents.

Aburame Hotaru stood at the edge of the railings beside the stadium, monitoring his students. When he saw that all of them were in battle stance, he raised his hand and commenced the battle.
