Mystic Falls Vacations

Today, we are about to return to our house in Mystic Falls for the holidays. Susan decided to come with us because our aunt has a lot of work in the ministry these days.

The end of the school year was peaceful. We won the Quidditch Cup again this year and the Four Houses Cup as well because Ron and Harry didn't get any bonus points without killing the basilisk.

My lessons with Snape are progressing well. He has little patience, and he is a crude teacher, but he has a lot of experience as a ligilimen. I don't think I'm ready for the ritual yet, but I will be up to speed in no time.

We arrived in our old house in an instant, it is still connected to the floo network. I hate this method of traveling; we are always covered in soot. I wonder who is the idiot that invented such a stupid means of transportation. If we didn't have our luggage, we could have just Apparated.

The house is still very well maintained. Grandmother come sometimes for cleaning and watering the plants in the greenhouse.

My parents decided that since I was older, it was time for my room to be redone. They also decided that the spare room would become Susan's room from now on. So, we went shopping in town to repaint the rooms and change the furniture, especially the bed, which is starting to become too small for me.

I opted for a dark blue paint that was not too dark but not too light either. I also took two metal bookcases and a fairly modern desk for the era, in wood with metal legs, and a double bed, I like having room to sleep, I tend to move around in my sleep.

My mom picked out a large closet for me in the same tone as the wood from my desk, and I managed to get a brand-new computer from my dad. The only things that haven't ended up in the trash are my game consoles and my old television.

Susan who didn't like the minimalist style of my room opted for a pastel yellow paint. She asked me to cast a spell on the brushes so that they painted fields of flowers on the walls. She took a white four-poster bed with veils, and she hung pieces of silk from the ceiling all over the room. She wasn't very keen on having a desk in her bedroom, but my mother forced her to choose one and a small library for her books.

After a good night's sleep, my mom sent me to help my grandmother with her groceries, not that she really needed my help but more to spend time with her.

"Hello grandmother"

"Ha, Sean. I'm ready in a minute."

"Don't worry, you don't need to dress that well to go shopping."

"Well, you'll excuse me but it's not every day that I can go for a walk with my grandson. I want to be sublime for the occasion."

"Yes, and so you decided to make me look like a bag in comparison, I came in shorts and t-shirt."

"Lucky me, if you knew how to dress properly all the pretty young girls in town would be chasing you." she giggles like a young girl at her joke. "And believe me some of them were delighted to hear of your return."

"Yes, well if the girls are chasing me it's mainly because I'm a quarter veela."

"And be glad that you were just a quarter veela, fool. Imagine what it would have been like if you were half. We should have installed automatic turrets in front of the house to fend off your hordes of admirers." She looks at me and lets out a sigh. "The genes of a veela with the powers of a metamorphmagus, the worst combination ever."

"It's okay I'm not that good looking, am I?"

"Do you need glasses? When's the last time you looked at yourself in a mirror?"

We end up leaving our house in the direction of the city center. A bright sun illuminated the city with a gentle breeze, an ideal temperature. However, it was not during this time that I risked meeting a vampire.

"On the supernatural side, are there any interesting things going on here?"

"Not much unfortunately, sometimes I feel like I'm the only person with powers here. I miss my sisters a lot sometimes."

"Do you have sisters, grandma?" No one has ever told me about my grandmother's sisters.

"Yes, three, Anisia, Kathala and Morgana. They all live in my hometown in Hungary."

"I'd be curious to see where you lived before."

"Well, I could take you there. It's been a while since I've been back, but why not for another vacation."

We pass the park and I see Bonnie with her grandmother. The latter waves to Stryga.

"You see this woman, she's a witch. But not a witch like you, she is different. "

"Different?" I didn't think there would be a difference between vampire diaries wizards and Harry Potter wizards.

"Unlike us, she doesn't draw her power from herself, she uses the power of nature to do magic. She doesn't need a wand compared to us either."

"But if they get their powers from nature, it must be endless, right?"

"I don't know, unlike us, we don't see them doing magic often."

That's interesting information, maybe there's a book on the subject in the Hogwarts library?
