Without the Darklord you can't do anything, huh?

"He was neither blinded by the light of hope nor consumed by the darkness of despair, for his vision was clear." - Synopsis: This novel is about a young boy who lived a simple life in a small village. He knew he wasn't special, and he couldn't do anything about it until he found a book. The book was a strange one, It doesn't seem to be a divine one nor a guiding one. It's not a gift from God nor the devil. God and the devil didn't choose him. Yet he came to grasp that selection was not necessary. He didn't have to be selected, for he possessed the power to select himself. He was neither bound by the shackles of good nor consumed by the fires of evil. He was neither swayed by the temptations of heaven nor influenced by the whispers of hell. He was neither ruled by the laws of the divine nor limited by the restrictions of the infernal. He was neither strengthened by the grace of the god nor weakened by the curses of the devil. He was neither burdened by the weight of morality nor corrupted by the allure of immortality. And that is the 'Darklord'. - ————————————————————————————— This is my first novel and I'm a novice, also English is not my first language, so I'm sorry if there are any grammatical errors. ————————————————————————————— If you ask why is Sei so evil, his perspectives of the world are just different from normal people, he's immoral and unprincipled. His father, Rei taught him how to fight with a sword, but never pushed him to be a warrior. Sei was not content with this life and had bigger ambitions. He wanted to be a ruler, not just a peaceful villager. He believed that his parents were holding him and providing no more use so they ended up like in the story. Dropped...sorry for you all who want to read...

Feigned Struggle and Consequence

As I ran down the hallway, I saw that the door to the clinic room was already open. I knew I needed to get to Kain quickly, so I made a direct path towards the clinic, passing by other rooms and people along the way.

With urgency driving me forward, I began to frantically scratch at my face and hands, digging my nails deep into my skin. I felt the sharp sting of pain as I tore at my flesh, leaving long red scratches in my wake.

Not satisfied with just marking my face and hands, I also tore at my clothes, yanking and pulling at the fabric until it hung off my body in tattered shreds. The rough and desperate movements were enough to cause me to bleed, the warm trickle of blood mixing with the sweat on my skin.

It was to make it look like I had been in some sort of struggle, to throw off suspicion and buy myself some time.

I arrived at the stairs and quickly climbed them up, making my way to another hall that led to Kain's room. Upon reaching the door, I raised my hand and slammed it against the door, it produces a loud, thunderous sound that echoed throughout the hallway.

Despite the force of my blow, the door remained firmly shut, I leaned against the door. I quickly pressed my bloody palm onto the door, leaving a distinctive mark, and then fell to the ground, feigning unconsciousness.

Moments later, I heard the sound of the doorknob turning and the door creaking open. I remained still, my eyes closed, as I awaited the next move.

I fell forward as the door was pushed open.

"Hm?"

Kain's voice echoed in my ear as he crouched down beside me. I felt the weight of his gaze fall upon my wounds, and then he gently shook me, causing me to slowly open my eyes.

"..agh... Principal, is that... you?" I feigned a wound-laden voice.

"What's wrong?" he asked with concern etched upon his features.

"I... I need some medical treatment first," I weakly spoke, my voice barely above a whisper.

Kain stood from his crouched position, he walked away from me and after that the melodic ring of a bell echoed throughout the room. Swiftly, I could hear the pitter-patter of light footsteps making their way towards me, indicative of a figure most likely of feminine disposition.

"Ah!"

A shrill scream echoed beside me, coming from the vicinity of my side. I cast my gaze upon the source of the sound, beholding the vision of a young girl dressed in a maid's attire.

Her delicate features were accentuated by her shoulder bared in a tempting display, revealing a smooth, creamy complexion.

Her tresses, dark blue and straight, cascaded down to her waist, framing a face adorned with eyes of a striking blue-purple hue.

Her chest was modestly proportioned and covered. The uniform, though modest, offered a glimpse of her lissome legs, accentuated by a hemline that stopped just above the knee.

"D-Do you need some assistance..?"

The timid voice interrupted my thoughts, their countenance exuded a sense of apprehension as they posed the question. However, I remained silent, as this she was not relevant to my current situation.

Matters such as these would be reported to the highest authority in the academy, Kain, the principal himself. Kain held the power to have me expelled from the academy and if Kain were to discover my involvement in this unfortunate incident, I was certain that he would remove me from this academy or possibly, get my ass in jail.

"Yes, he needs it," Kain said firmly. "Take care of him until he's able to talk and walk again."

"Understood," came the obedient reply.

As I lay there, I could hear footsteps circling around me, until they finally came to a halt beside my head. I opened my eyes slightly, only to behold the girl crouching and extending her arm in offering. The glimpse I caught of her attire revealed a striking contrast of white, with notably abbreviated pink shorts at her crotch.

I noticed that I was forcibly pulled along, I couldn't help but notice the manner in which I was being apprehended. She had clasped onto the collar of my shirt, her hands grasping the fabric with tenacity. I was being dragged, against my will, by this mysterious figure, towards an unknown destination.

As I was being dragged along by the collar of my shirt, Every time she took a step back, I could hear her gasp for breath, her movements causing her to release strained grunts with every inch she retreated. This tiresome feat of exertion lasted for a weary ten minutes, before I was finally released and my head met the ground with a light thud.

In that moment, I was unable to make a run for it, as the telltale sound of a twisting doorknob filled my ears.

The door creaked open, before I was pulled into the room with a forceful yank. She dragged me into the room and then abruptly stopped, gripping my arm firmly before hoisting me onto her shoulder with a labored effort.

The sensation of her shoulder was soft yet sturdy beneath my weight as she took cautious steps, her breathing heavy from the exertion. After what felt like an eternity of staggering, she finally tossed me onto a soft surface. I softly landed on a cozy and plush bed, the softness cushioning my fall.

"Huh.."

She sighed softly and I heard her footsteps move away from me. The sound of a doorknob twisting and the door opening told me she was about to leave the room. I managed to open my eyes a bit and caught a glimpse of her before she closed the door behind her.

I cautiously kept my eyes open a bit, taking in my surroundings. I was in a bedroom, with a large double bed at its center. The room was grand, with furnishings that exuded luxury and simplicity, its filled with an array of elegant furniture, including a plush armchair, a grand wardrobe, a stately writing desk, and various cabinets and shelves. Soft light filtering in through the curtains added to the room's serene atmosphere, and the rich textures and intricate details of the furnishings spoke to its high-end quality.

On one side of the room, there was a massive wooden bookshelf, with a sleek and shiny surface. Along the walls stood tall, elegant cabinets that housed various items. The room was well-lit, with natural light streaming in from the windows.
