CHAPTER 03:ONLY MEMORIES

Dressed in long shiny white- milkish dress,her eyes sparkled and her body was shiny just as pure white snow,her lips streched from sides and brightened her face shining with an adorable smile,"My love...,"she spoke with a warm smile,Josh looked at his wife from a distance,his heart felt warm seeing his wife's angelic face but inside the good feeling there was a terrible feeling of fear,he felt like they were drifting apart,it's not what he wanted,he stretched out his hand to reach Viviana but she was somehow distanced from him,he couldn't tell how far though it still felt like she was just a step ahead from him.

He tried to move but he couldn't,he tried to say something but it felt like his lips could hardly open,his body was betraying him already,'Please don't go', he spoke in his mind but these same words couldn't come out of his mouth."Am sorry...but I...I...",her smiley face suddenly turned into one with grief,"I have to go...",she cried and slowly she faded into a bright light,"No...No...please...",Josh cried in his sleep,tears rolled down the sides of his face,he swayed his head side to side,"please...please....don't go!",he cried and suddenly snapped out of his sleep,he opened his eyes and looked around,'What is this place?' he wondered.

After a while he realised he was in a hospital room,no one was in there except for him,he wiped the tears all over his face by crying in the nightmare he just had, only in that instant moment the flashback of the blast at St.Jone's came back to his head,he covered his face with his hands and sobbed all over again,"Aaaarrgghh..",he cried out loud while rolling on the bed,his heart was on fire,he felt everything stopped at instant,it was just one year since he got Married to Viviana,'Why was it such a short term of happiness?','If there were deities up there couldn't they atleast let him have this one thing ,the person he loved the most?,the door opened and three people entered the room ,Josh lifted himself and sat up to see who came in,it was the Hartsons,Viviana's parents and her elder brother,Edward. Mrs.Hartson walked straight towards the bed and got closer to Josh,before he could realise it Josh was hardly slapped on the face by his mother-in-law, ofcourse they never cared about him but now that their favourite daughter was dead ,they all vent their anger on him,especially Viviana's mother who was now looking at Josh with a terrifying and hateful expression on her face," You....Its all your fault..", she threw a tantrum at Josh who wasn't moving an inch enduring all kind of hitting from his mother-in -law who was unreasonably accusing him.

Edward stepped foward at pulled his mother away from Josh,though it was hard he managed in the end to pull her and hugged his mother,"Mother ....mother please come down...",he said calmly as he rubbed his mother's hair gently on her back and tightly held her close to calm her anger,Colleth flooded tears as she leaned on her son's embrace,"I won't forgive him for this...", she said with a crying voice," My baby could still be alive if.....if she didn't end up marrying that useless man!",said Colleth.The doctor came in he looked at the three of them then back at Josh and sensed a tension in the room,"Did I interrupt something?...A family moment perhaps?",asked the doctor,they all glared at him and said nothing,Mr.Hartson was quiet all along he turned away and left the room after a while his wife followed,only the doctor,Josh and Edward were in the room,Josh lied back on the bed and turned to the direction of the window,he shut his eyes quietly as drops of tears fell off he blamed himself too,maybe his mother- in -law spoke the truth ,somehow, he is the cause to all this, he clenched his fists held back the anger that almost made him scream out.Edward got closer and touched Josh's shoulder,"I know you might not be ready....", he paused and sighed,"But I think you should know this,my sister's and the baby's burial ceremony ....is tommorow",he explained,"So if.....", before he finished Josh rose up from the bed and glanced at him with suprise,"The baby?What baby?I saw my daughter alive yesterday,she can't be dead!",Josh coaxed while looking at Edward who was now dazed by what Josh said, Edward stood up one of his hands holding his upper waist while the other wiped his face with exhaustion and suprise,he looked back at Josh,"Are you sure?",he asked, Josh nodded his head as a Yes."Then atleast we got a good news...",boasted Edward trying to bring a good mood in the room,at the time the doctor had already left the room.Edward stepped out of the room and found Miranda on the bench,his sister's best friend , the two weren't close like Viviana was,Edward got closer to the bench and greeted Miranda and then left, as he was leaving Miranda watched him from behind.She knew how much Edward loved his younger sister and felt sorry for him.

Miranda came back to the hospital,She had cooked some of Josh's favourite dish and hoped he would agree to eat,Well honestly,chances of Josh eating the food were zero anyway since the incident, Josh lost his mind,he wanted nothing to eat,no one talk to and even the lights in the room were switched off,he wanted to be alone.As she walked closer to Josh's room she heard some whispering,at first she wanted to ignore whispers but after she heard,"His name is Josh Dawson,he seems to know the baby is alive,"said the man talking to the phone,we have to find a way to keep this down,that baby can't live just like her mother she has to die", said the guy on the phone. Miranda covered her mouth with her palms,"Oh My God", she whispered to herself,"No way....was that fire accident.....oh no!",she said to herself,there were tremors all over her body, she waited a little longer to get to listen more."Don't make any mistakes and make sure it all goes clean...",added the guy,"That baby must die,You can't afford making more mistakes....I won't let it slip this time",he finished and hunged up. Miranda waited for the man to turn around so she could get a clue of what the curlpit looks like.After hanging up the phone ,the guy turned to leave,Miranda was secretly observing him in a corner,Miranda was shocked ,'How is this possible?,'Of all people why him?Her heart was beating so fast out of fear she turned away and left the spot before being noticed.'How?Why?'She kept asking herself.

It was midnight, inside hospital building there was a cloud of silence,Josh was already deeply asleep after being drugged the doctors had noticed that his mental condition was distabilizing so they put him under some prescribtions to help him get normal,the door to Josh's room opened then someone stepped in, it was Miranda ,she slowly tip toed and got closer to Josh's bed, He looked pitiful to the point that Miranda couldn't help it but fell sorry for him,this family just crumbled apart and someone out there planned to even bring more harm to them,'Why did he have to go through all this? Wasn't it enough,all the sufferings he faced?',She kept her breath low enough to make sure Josh cannot snap out of his sleep,"Am sorry...but this is the least I can do for you....I hope...",she uttered , she sighed as tears kept coming out but she tried to make herself tough,"I hope what am doing is right...", she said with a whispering voice,in her hands she held a baby covered with a heavy baby blanket,she looked at the baby and cried helplessly,"I promise to guide her with my life....this is how I repay your kindness to me...Goodbye Josh...",she paused a bit and wiped the tears that drenched her face,"I pray that you will one day get to be happy again....I guess this is where we part our ways...",she finished and slowly turned and left the room,leaving behind everything Miranda decided to save Viviana's daughter from whoever was hunting their family.Why is that person after Josh's family?What will happen to Miranda and her best friend's daughter?
