Chapter 69

The next morning

It was a bright and sunny day with clear sky indicating no rain in the coming hours of the day. Despite being sunny, it wasn't too hot, just warm enough for people to enjoy walking outside. 'Perfect day to start the travel' thought Sean as he exited the Inn alongside Cornelia and made their way to the mission point.

Sean and Cornelia had already discussed about how they were going to complete this mission. Though this was an escort mission with a cumulation of many mercenary teams and generally teams prefer to stay together, Sean and Cornelia cannot do that as having only two mercenaries in a team while also having huge difference in power would be both odd and eye catching.

Hence they had decided to act separately. While Cornelia acted alongside the vanguard as her power was that of level 8 warrior, Sean being only a level 3 warrior would be assigned by the coordinator at the mission point mostly to guard some small merchant's carriage while taking turns with other mercenaries.

Sean had also planned not to use his weapons and equipped himself with his katana, a bulletproof jacket which could protect him from a level 10 warrior's strike, arm guards on both hands and military boots. He also wore a slim fit black t-shirt over which he wore a black jacket. His looks were quite similar to that of special police officers such as anti terrorism squad or a public security or a special agent.

Arriving separately at the mission point they each got assigned based on their strength. Cornelia got assigned as a vanguard at the front of the merchant caravan. Though sounding dangerous it's actually quite easy to perform your work as there would be hundreds of mercenaries around you and you would only have to face very little threat as you would be teaming up with other mercenaries to fight any enemy.

On a professional level only mercenaries who had worked together, generally already formed teams could work together properly, however with little practice other mercenaries could also obtain a basic level of understanding towards others with whom they work.

Sean's work was even more easy and completely risk free so long no one wanted to steal the carriages of merchants by sneaking into the most secured camps. However such things were impossible to happen as no one would be crazy to target such a huge camp.

Sean met the owner of the carriage whom he is going to protect as well as the mercenaries who were already protecting it. The carriage owner was quite a unique merchant who seemed to be selling medicinal herbs, all related to sexual problems. Though he didn't go over this in detail, the merchant did explain the problems which he could cure with pride on his face earning a bashful look from the girls in the mercenary group who were incharge of protecting him and a glint in the eyes of men.

Finally with the brief introduction, the merchant said that he would give an additional reward to Sean if he does his job well and asked Sean to pick one medicine from the brochure. It seemed like every one from the group who guarded him had also received the same offer.

One of the female mercenary in the group said "Sir Alphonse I doubt he would have a need for your medicine. He looks very young to me".

" What do you know? I already had 2-3 sex friends at his age. That's the perfect age to start exploring the pleasures of women. Only when you experience the divine feeling of laying with women can you call yourself an adult " said Alphonse in a reminiscent tone while drooling lecherously. This earned a look of disgust from the women in the group and a thumbs up from the men who looked like they would call him master anytime soon.

'This guy Alphonse seems to be a pervert' thought Sean and reached out his hand to take the brochure.

Looking at the brochure Sean gained clarity about the list of medicines he sold. Though it was named differently, with the description and use given beside the names of medicines Sean found that the merchant sold Viagra, Medicine for penis expansion and enlargement, medicine to have body secrete more semen, orgasm delay potions, ED cure medicine and some weird ones such as seductive sweat glans, pheromone release, aphrodisiac, love potions, obsession potion etc.

Looking at this list Sean could no longer keep a straight face and just gave back the medicine list while saying "Just give me extra silver at the end equivalent to the value of medicine".

Hearing this the merchant felt that it was a waste of an opportunity while one of the men, no to be fair a boy reached out and put his arm over Sean's shoulder and said "Oi kid, don't waste such a great opportunity. Don't you want to have a big dick. You might not know the importance of having one. Once you start entering into a relationship with a woman, having a big dick, being able to last long in bed are very important or else you could have your girl stolen by a stud".

'A 16 year old is educating me on sex and importance of having bedroom skills?' thought Sean in amusement. Nudging his shoulder a bit to remove the guy's arm Sean said " I don't need it".

Moving over Sean was assigned to guard the carriage by the merchant and after discussion with the already assigned mercenary group Sean was asked to guard the carriage alongside two other men from noon to 6 in the evening.

After setting the timings to guard the carriage, next was to interact and create a relationship with the team with whom Sean was going to spend at least the next few weeks. The Mercenaries seemed to know to know eachother and upon further introductions Sean came to know that they were a team and they had been travelling together since the start of the Carnival and giving protection to different merchants over the period of months.

The oldest was 18 years of age called Ethan and seemed to be the leader as well as the strongest of the team. He was just a Level 4 warrior with other members being level 3 and some even at Level 2. Since they were not talented and neither from a family, they had formed a group to gain experience as mercenaries and the best mission to take for them was the Carnival as they would be well protected as well as earn money by doing the easiest job which was standing as guards.

They could also obtain lot of experience as they would be able to visit different places within the kingdom. The one who caught the attention of Sean was a girl who was a level 3 warrior who seemed to wield a Lance. This girl was quite good looking with black hair and almost baby like face. Unlike other girls of the group whom despite the same age as this girl being well developed, this particular girl was quite not so developed.

The thing that caught Sean's attention was both her looks and her name as this was the first time ever since he transmigrated into this world came across an Asian much less a Japanese.

The girl's name was Takeshi Mio. 'Even the way they use their father's name before their name was the same as the Japanese. This gave many doubts to Sean as he thought of ways to ask her birthplace.

Sean decided to take things slowly to know more about this woman called Takeshi Mio. His main goal of joining this Carnival was not only for the safe passage to go towards the Capital buy also to focus on leveling up his training, especially in taking gene enhancement serums and intermediate and possibly complete health serum inorder to finally take the regeneration serum which would allow him to be injury free and possibly even escape death by mutilation.

With the short term goal of reaching at least Level 10 in Strength and Agility serum while also reaching Complete Health serum Sean went over to perform his duty for the first day.

Meanwhile in the frontline of the Carnival, Cornelia got settled as the vanguard and had to team up with another group of mercenaries. Despite hiding her face it was not possible to hide Cornelia's figure as well as her aura which exuded nobility. This made her garner more attention, though mostly for her figure as it was common for nobles to gain experience by being a mercenary.

The leader of the mercenary who was another noble with strength of level 9 gave a warm welcome to her and quickly introduced himself as well as his team mates before asking her experience in fights and assigning her to a group. As this was only a stopgap Cornelia did not plan to engage in any dangerous activity and decided to be a support to their group in order to keep herself safe.
