CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

The next morning, we were bringing down our tents as we put them back in their bags. Max helped me with mine as we put the pieces back in the bag. "Alexandra, can I talk to you?" Jaden said as he glanced down, his hands in his pocket. Max growled at him, and I shot him a glare, turning back to look at Jaden. "Yes."

"Alone..." He eyed Max who crossed his arms, refusing to leave. I sighed, shaking my head at him. "Fine, I'll wait for you in the bus." He grabbed my bag and the tent effortlessly as he made his way towards the bus.

"I'm sorry for the way I acted yesterday. I wasn't in control, you were....in heat." He spoke a bit uncomfortable, and I gave him a small nod, "It's okay, you didn't know, hell I didn't know either. I wouldn't have wandered off if I knew."
