Chapter 78

Siana screamed, a tearing, soul deep scream as the shield around her shattered with Naerin’s death. He’d fallen to protect her, now he was gone. Looking up and down the beach all she could see was the carnage wrought by the thing she’d chained in the surf. Now it had to die. Scarlet covered her vision and Siana reached as deep as she could into the magic of the Planar Tree. What came out of her was a torrent of blue-white fire ripped directly from the Tree itself and channeled with vicious, violent rage and pain at the chained thing. It squalled, putrid smoke rising from its body as Siana stalked towards it, hands full of fire and fury.

“You killed my friends.” She snarled at it as it fought her chains and tried to flee. “You killed my love.”
