“You deserved better from him.” Naerin said with a touch of anger in his voice. “To take advantage of you like that for as long as he did is reprehensible.”

“Thanks, Naerin.” Siana looked up at the ceiling of the porch. “The worst part of it is that I know myself well enough to know that if he’d told me it was all a mistake, that I’d gotten it wrong, I loved him enough to believe him. I’m never going to put myself in that place again, I don’t think I could deal with being broken like that again.”

“I could never place anyone I cared for in that position.” Naerin squeezed her hand back. “I cannot fathom using someone that I professed to care about that way. To lie for so long is anathema to me.”

“Sweet talker,” Siana fluttered her eyelashes at Naerin and chuckled at the man’s expression. “Seriously though, relationships are just not for me. Every relationship I’ve had so far has ended in varying sizes of explosion.”
