"Can you... try to... look at me now...?" Boaz asked softly and even more cautiously.
He wants this distance between them. So he was scared to make her feel uncomfortable and reject his presence around her.
Nina squeezed her eyes tighter. She took a deep breath and exhaled.
"Can we stay this way for a while first?" Nina softly asked. She seemed cautious not to offend Boaz.
She did not reject, but as she wasn't ready, she asked for a slow down. She needed to calm her nerves and get used to his presence, get used to his distance, and honestly, his touch in her hands a while ago was too combustible for her and her senses. He had held her wrist earlier while running at the clinic to the parking lot, he held her in his arms all the way up to her living room from his car parked on the side road, but they were nothing compared to how she felt with his touch right now.
