Chapter Eight

Luna found herself in an environment she had never seen before, she was lost and confused, where was this place? And what was she doing here? How did she even get here in the first place?

"Luna!" Luna turned around to find Queen Evenin behind her, the queen looked different as she stared at Luna with hatred.

"Mother," Luna bowed respectfully, as she tried to avoid the Queen's eyes.

"You useless girl! You have managed to survive a day, how did you do that?" Luna could hear the surprise tone in her mother's words, but she herself was confused. Did she survive from the demon king?

She raised her head and looked at her surroundings once again, smiling victoriously, "I did survive, mother," Luna replied happily.

"You can't survive!" The Queen yelled, "You have to die, then your father will be the next and you both can meet each other in heaven!" She screeched.

Luna's face became serious, "What do you mean, mother? Why would you say such words? Do you know the implications of your-" Luna choked on her words as she felt her neck being strangled by an invisible hands.

She tried to free herself, but how was it possible when she couldn't see the invisible force that was strangling her to death. Then she caught a glimpse of the Queen squeezing her hand, this made the force strangle her the more.

"Die, you useless child!" The Queen then raised her hand, and Luna felt her feet leaving the ground, what was happening? Why was the Queen trying to kill her? But the Queen didn't have any power, so who is this that is attempting to kill her?

Luna could feel her soul slowly leaving her body, she was scared, she didn't want to die, not now, she had managed to escape from being killed by the Demon lord only to encounter someone else. Who was this person?

Luna closed her eyes, she was dying… darkness was hovering around her…" I... don't… want… to… die,"A tear dropped on her cheek, she was about to accept her fate…

"Wake up!" She shrieked when she felt a hand push her violently, her eyes widened in horror. Her body was soaked in her sweats.

A nightmare…

She just had a nightmare and had almost died…

What was the meaning of this?

She began to shiver in fear, she didn't notice the man in front of her, until he spoke.

"I see, the once brave and fearless princess is weak in bed," Adam said in a grating voice, Luna, who was still trying to get over herself from the nightmare she just had, froze when she heard Adam's voice.

What was happening? Didn't she already escape from Adam as the woman who looked like the Queen had said? Why was she here again?

Slowly, she raised her head to look at the man in front of her, staring deep into his fiery eyes, her body felt cold and weak, then she slumped and fell on him.

Adam's brows furrowed, "Is this how the Princess was brought up? " He asked, there was a tone of mockery and sarcasm in his voice, then he continued. "Throwing yourself so early at me?"

But she didn't say anything, he slowly pushed her, but she slumped on the bed. It was obvious she had passed away from shock, "How weak!" He snapped and turned away from her, about to teleport, but he stopped.

He turned to the unconscious girl, contemplating on whether he should help her or not, his face became serious, he shut his eyes tightly, trying to calm himself.

He walked over to her, sat beside her on the bed and touched her forehead, compelling her to forget about whatever had scared her. He then stood up, took a glance at her, his lips curled up into a smirk.

Few hours ago, she was bold, stubborn and had even dared to hit him, now she looked just like a little kitten. He was about to leave when her eyes suddenly opened, he was a little shocked but quickly composed himself.

"I see you are awake," He murmured under his breath, Luna stood up, her head down in embarrassment, then she raised her head, her face was red which made Adam was confused, what was wrong with her? She was the first human he had ever had difficulty with on his first day.

"It's the… the…" She bit her lips then looked down at her feet, fondling with the hem of her dress, Adam didn't understand what she meant, and why she was suddenly acting strange.

"I see you are too shy to speak, isn't it?" He asked, Luna slowly shook her head. Then she slowly took off the rope that was covering her. Leaving only a tiny fabric that exposed her skin.

Because of her sweats, the fabric glued to her body, making her body so transparent that could see her breast. That was when Adam understood what she was trying to say, the Consumption Night.

Then she raised her head to look at him, her gaze seemed to be pleading for him to make the move, but Adam had an evil thought, he wanted to see what this fierce kitten could do, so he pretended not to know what she was doing.

"Don't you still understand?" He could hear the disappointment and anger in her voice as she gave him a hard stare.

"Understand what? You woke and suddenly stood in front of me, doing nothing and then ask me if I don't understand what you are doing, shouldn't I be the one asking the question here?" Luna blushed in embarrassment and wished she could slap his sharp mouth.

How could he not get the hint of what she was doing? Was he doing this on purpose? Pretending like he didn't understand so he could embarrass her? She took a quick glance at him, but there was no expression on his face. She was vexed as she didn't know what to do at that moment?

Adam smiled inwardly when he saw her struggling, then she looked up at him, pouting, she looked so cute that Adam was lost, he stared at her, about to talk.

But she suddenly crossed the distance between them and hugged him, his body felt electrocuted, he felt like a bolt had strikes him. And then he felt his inner demon which had never been this angry and scared come out, his gaze turned fierce, and he had the urged to kill.

He looked at the little kitten in front of him, his demon was out and was about to kill her… he closed his eyes, letting his demon take over him, and kill… but then…
