Rose's Shock

Nathen's face froze at what Raider said suddenly to him. He didn't expect such a request from Raider all of a sudden.

Nathen glanced at Rose to see if she would say something. However, she didn't even look at them; her head was lowered in shame. 'It seems this kind of thing is quite normal between them.'

Nathen coughed, clearing his throat. He then said to Raider."I can leave, but can you give me a place to stay where I don't have to pay any kind of bill?"

Raider raised his eyebrows as he was surprised by Nathen's quick response.

On the other hand, something seems to have broken inside Rose's heart. She looked at Nathen with tears coming out of her eyes. "Nathen, you…will leave me?"

Nathen looked at Rose's expression and became sad, but he had decided to leave her company.

Firstly, because he wanted to do the mission alone, he knew that most of his dungeons would be mutated because of the system. And he didn't want her to go into life and death situations every day.

Lastly, he didn't want to meddle in their private matters. From what he saw, Rose seems to hate her brother, as he looks like a douchebag. But from what he saw in a few interactions, he felt her brother was like that because he loved her and wanted to protect her.

'Wait, now that I think of it, I can just check with the help of the system.' Nathen suddenly remembered that skill of his. 'Identify Raider.'

'This feels so toxic.' Nathen was inwardly shocked.

"Nathen, why don't you say something?" Rose questioned again which brought back Nathen to his senses.

Nathen patted her head, seeing her cry like a little girl. "I am just leaving because I feel I am still not worthy, but don't worry, you will be my best friend."

"Really?" Rose asked again, she didn't mind him leaving after hearing his reason, but she still didn't want him to leave.

"Yes, and don't worry. I might not be in your company anymore, but that doesn't mean we can't ever talk or meet up with each other." Nathen reassured her again.

"Okay," Rose agreed with him, but her mood was still down.

Then suddenly, the air seemed to tighten. Nathen and Rose looked at Raider, who had black lines all over his face. "Are you two done?"

"Yes, yes, big brother. So, when will I get my new house?" Nathen became ashamed and rubbed the back of his head.

"First, get out."

"Huh!?"

"We have arrived at your new house." Raider pointed him toward the door.

Nathen opened the door, and he saw a two story bungalow before his eyes. He turned in ecstatic and said to Raider."Big brother, thank you."

"I am not your big brother." Raider glared at him.

Nathen panicked and apologized."Sorry,"

"Hmph," Raider scoffed him off."Say whatever goodbye you can."

Nathen looked at Rose and said."See you tomorrow, and don't you dare be sad!"

Rose nodded her head."I will not be sad."

Then the door shut off suddenly and the car left in seconds.

"What a weird bunch!" Nathen sighed to himself; it was the first time in ages he had seen people like that, but he knew there were more to come.

He tossed those thoughts away from his head and headed toward his new house. He smirked to himself. "Rose's brother seemed to have prepared this house for a victim like me, but what I see is a complete win."

Inside the car.

Rose said to Raider with anger."Why do you always do this? Why don't you let me do whatever I want?"

"Not to let you encounter this kind of dangerous situation. Do you know how dangerous a mutated dungeon is? Only the top elites could clear it and the fact you were able to complete it is truly commendable, but it might be that you were just lucky too." Raider answered back calmly.

Rose wanted to refute but couldn't, as she might have died if she had been all alone. Fortunately, Nathen was there, and because of him, she was able to come out alive.

"It seems my words are true." Raider rested his head on his hand. "Rose, you don't have to do such dangerous things. You can have whatever you want, you just have to say it to me."

"No! I want to stand straight with my own legs. I don't want to people to say what I don't like, I want to be someone people will look up to." Rose strongly rebuked Raiden.

Raiden didn't say anything, instead going silent.

"What can't you say anything now? You don't know what I feel!" Rose further pushed Raider.

Raider sighed. "I might not have completely experienced how you feel. But… I have been mocked down by everyone for my low talent. Still, I proved them wrong by hardwork and those people are scared of me now."

"Then why don't you let me be like that?" Rose asked, as she felt she was being treated wrongly.

"It's simple, I don't want you to experience the harshness of humanity," Raider said as he looked outside at the rising buildings.

Rose gritted her teeth in extreme anger.

"I have another thing for you." Raider abruptly stated.

Rose didn't reply.

Raider, on the other hand, continued to say. "Father has found someone to get you married to."

"WHAT!?" Rose's eyes widened in complete shock.
