Big butterfly became small ones leaving small burns on the wood.

After his students left, Yoroi used the afternoon to continue training his new jutsu. He had used the whole night to apply his observations from the fight earlier that day. His result was, of course, far too many finger signs, but he had taken a practical and thus direct approach. In his theory, one used water particles in the air like a lens to focus a light pulse. To make it easier, Yoroi tried it from the beginning without a tight focus to lower the difficulty. Towards morning he actually had a first success and in the rising morning sun it reminded him of a butterfly. The naming consisted of this moment and the hope to improve the jutsu: Storm Release Bold Butterfly Flash.

'I'd like to keep the low chakra usage, but I don't think it's going to happen.'

Since he only needed a small pulse of light, the chakra consumption was low. Still, the danger comes from that pulse, so more chakra would inevitably be needed. This thought bothered him the whole afternoon while he noticed the first superfluous finger signs.

Towards evening the butterfly became faster and increased in intensity. There were even slight burns on the bark of his test tree. One might think he would be a genius to learn from observing a storm release, but he had already practiced and read a lot in the three months. As a result, he knew the basics and lacked just such an insight, which he now had.

Deep in the night, the next lucky moment came to him. He was training by the lake and noticed the reflection of his jutsu: "How can I be so stupid?!"

He forgot one important aspect: The concentration of the light. He doesn't need more chakra for the light but must use the water in the air to focus the butterfly. This would give him the ability to increase, decrease and also multiply the jutsu. Immediately he set to work, but after a few minutes he realised that he was running out of chakra. So he had no choice but to make his way home.

Once there, Hanai was already asleep and yet dinner was waiting for him. With a smile, Yoroi enjoyed the meal and went to bed, exhausted.

Sometime in the early noon he woke up. But you couldn't call it waking up, he smelled the smell of lunch and immediately realized he had overslept. The shock was deep and he hurried to the training ground at full speed. During his sprint came the next shock: he had not changed his clothes, only his laziness at night saved him an embarrassing result. He had only taken off his waistcoat and pouches.

Yoroi arrived at the place and his students were sitting next to each other, chatting happily. 'I'll just say that it was my plan that they had some time to get to know each other.' He greeted them and explained the educational purpose of his tardiness, though none of the three genin believed him. The reputation of his laziness from yesterday was by now known to most of the village.

Without his equipment, he had to improvise and so the first idea he had was to give his students the right mindset. He began to talk about the mission in which he suffered the head injury. He didn't have any memories, but from the mission report he knew quite well what happened. Yoroi put special emphasis on his brother's heroic deed and how important it is to protect his team members. He also spoke about the aftermath of the experience for him and the families of the deceased. The happy mood was gone, but it was still an important lesson for the three inexperienced genin. Their path will be dangerous and loss of friends and family will be there.

Yoroi did not leave it at that and deepened the whole thing by talking about mistakes that could come with arrogance, for example: Underestimating the opponent, not paying enough attention and especially escalating situations that could have been solved diplomatically.

Until the afternoon he created the correct mindset for this very cruel world. To lighten the mood, Yoroi invited everyone for ice cream, unfortunately forgetting that he had no money with him. A very embarrassing situation, but one that successfully lightened the mood. Since he was still exhausted from the previous day, he went straight home. Hanai was waiting for him there and he got into trouble for overdoing it with practicing his new jutsu. She was right, his exhaustion came from almost depleting his chakra reserves. Consequently, he had a more quiet and relaxing evening, he used the time to kep up to date with the mission reports of other teams. Among other things, he had already learned what he had to teach his team first.

The next day, and this time on time, the first practical training began. He began with tree walking and explained his insights into chakra manipulation. In other villages new genin were much weaker, but in Kumo the mentality was just different and so a Konoha genin would probably call Yorois students monsters.

Day after day he trained his team and after a week they could already walk reasonably well on water. Accordingly, Yoroi decided to accept the first mission. Sakugai was very nervous and he had to calm her down first. In contrast, Ainari was happy to finally do a mission. Tahei, as always, didn't mind anything, as if he didn't care about anything.

It was a D-rank mission that was part of a greater effort to fight an invasive species near the village. By late noon they already finished thei mission so Yoroi could use his time off to focus on his jutsu.

He was able to reduce the finger signs to six and already use the water particles a little as lenses. Fortunately he had not underestimated the difficulty of the water manipulation and so he was not disappointed by the slow progress. Thus his life dragged on for a few weeks, in which he did a mission in the morning, trained his students in the afternoon and tried to perfect his jutsu in the evening.

At the end of the month he wanted to officially registere his jutsu and was taken to a special training room. This was used to evaluate the jutsu and it had a large window on the side behind which experienced shinobi would observe and evaluate his jutsu.

Yoroi stood about 10 metres from a wooden pole and formed his six finger signs before pressing both palms forward leaning. "Storm Release: Bold Butterfly Flash!"

With a hiss, a butterfly of pure energy fluttered towards the pole. The closer it came, the faster it became and when it collided, it shattered most of the pole while the remaining part steamed.

Next he attacked another pole but this time with a shout of "Storm Release: Concentrated Butterfly Flash" The butterfly took off and grew smaller until it was the size of a normal butterfly, flew normally towards the pole and only at the last moment accelerated into a small jet of light no thicker than a hair. Without any problems it penetrated the pole and set it directly on fire. The wood next to the impact side evaporated and a hand-sized hole was visible.

His last attempt was a duplication, but he directly told the examiners that he did not have much chakra left and that the number of butterflies would be greater with more chakra and the damage would of course be greater too. "Storm Release: Multiple Butterfly Storm."

One big butterfly became many small ones leaving small burns on the wood.

After his show, Yoroi was quite proud, he had finally created his own jutsu. Especially the many variations made it more versatile. The application of the jutsu was particularly important for later advancement to the rank of jonin, as one had to be able to do A-rank justsu.

After a consultation with the examiners, it was decided that Storm Release Bold Butterfly Flash would be assigned to rank C, Storm Release Concentrated Butterfly Flash to rank B and Storm Release Multiple Butterfly Storm to rank B. In addition, Yoroi was asked to share the first jutsu with the village, to which he directly agreed. He could only develop it with the insight of an existing jutstu, so it was only fair to offer others the chance too.

With a filled wallet because of the sharing, he invited Hanai to dinner. Both celebrated his jutsu creation extensively and his old teammates Okaki and Mushino also took part. Both were already back in action and had just a few days to relax in the village before it would be off to war again.

"Yoroi, when we get back you have to show us how strong you are, with your new rank B jutsu you should be able to keep up with some weaker Jonin." Mushino was happy with Yoroi's progress, but would not admit to himself that he was falling behind him.

"I'm sure we'll meet again soon." Okaki also said goodbye, leaving only Hanai with Yoroi. They both enjoyed stroll through the city before heading home. But before he arrived at the house, an Anbu interrupted them, greeted him and said, "The Raikage demands that you report immediately." Following the instruction, Yoroi hurried to the Raikage.

It was late in the evening when Yoroi entered the Raikage's office. To his surprise, his two friends Okaki and Mushino were also there. Even before Yoroi could grasp the situation properly, the Raikage spoke: "Yoroi, as team leader, you will leave for a mission with these two as soon as possible. You know about our lack of Jonin because of the war, a Jonin would only be ready for a team tomorrow morning. Consequently, you leave with your former teammates. It is about a raid on a village by bandits. It can be assumed that at least one bandit has used a jutsu. Therefore, the mission is of rank B. To be safe, your mission is to scout and if possible eliminate the bandits. If the danger is too great, wait for your reinforcements."

After a short breefing, he looked directly at Yoroi, "You may not be a Jonin, but I hope your new jutsus will help. You are the only well-coordinated team I can muster so quickly. Good luck."

He tossed Yoroi a scroll with the mission details and the three of them left the office. After a brief coordination, they decided to meet half an hour later. With great haste, Yoroi hurried home to get ready. Luckily Hanai was thinking along with him and greeted him with his packed things: "I assume you have to go on an urgent mission. Here I have finished packing your things for you." Of course, he quickly checked the things to make sure nothing was forgotten and hugged Hanai tightly once more. Her concern was written all over her face, hoping to take at least some of the burden off, he promised, "Hanai-nee san, I will definitely return."

After a sad farewell, he was the first to arrive at the meeting point. Only a short time later, his comrades arrived and the three teams set off on their mission.

The village was far away from any strategic points, so it took several days for the information about the raid to reach kumo. Since there were no enemies to fear so far in the backcountry, it made sense to send Yoroi's team. All three knew each other well and had already travelled together. With his new A-rank jutsu, he should be able to fight even more experienced Shinobi. Besides, reinforcements would follow in half a day to a day. With all this in mind, Yoroi relaxed for now: "We need three days to get to the village, I would suggest we take a sleep break at sunrise and leave again around noon."

"I'll take the first watch, I didn't get up until noon." Smiling a little at the late wake-up, Okaki volunteered for the first watch. Since no one objected, the plan was followed. Around noon they set off again and reached a small village in the evening. It was Mushino's job to explore the village while Yoroi and Okaki checked the surroundings. The three of them found shelter in a stable without any major problems. In contrast to the sleeping place at noon, the stable was a big upgrade. Well rested, Yoroi took over the last watch.

It was a quiet night in itself, but a villager actually tried to steal from them. Yoroi was not gentle and knocked the villager straight out. The team set off at dawn without further incident.

The next few days were unexciting and without further incidents. It was noon when the team reached the final destination. Once there, it was Yoroi's job to make contact while the others secured the area. The village was a little larger, but looked very battered, probably due to the bandits. One house stood out because the wall had broken apart. That house Yoroi examined first and it was clear to him that this was the work of an Earth Release Jutsu. While standing by the house, an elderly man approached him:

"Did Kumo just send a little boy? How are we supposed to get rid of the bandits like that."

The man's comment did not surprise Yoroi; after all, he was only 10 years old and had turned up alone in the village. So he didn't take it too seriously and replied: "My team is already looking around the area, we are the reconnaissance team, of course we take the mission seriously. Here is the scroll, I request confirmation of the details."

The man took the scroll and after a quick read he handed it back, "The details are correct, so here's what had happened here: A group of bandits attacked the village out of nowhere one night, they took everything from the broken house here, it was our community house and therefore had the most valuable things stored. We think they have their camp in the northern forest, there are many small clearings that are ideal for this. Please, you have to finish them off, we don't have much out here."

After Yoroi calmed the man down, he decided to search the forest with his team. The primary mission objective was reconnaissance and it was only midday. So they had until evening and the next morning the reinforcements would probably arrive. With special caution, they set out.
