Her breath came out in harsh pants as she ran through the thick foliage of the forest, her unprotected feet hurt as they ran across all sorts of rocks, twigs, and critters. She just needed to run a couple more feet. Just a couple more feet until she made it. Just a couple more. Her mind didn't even have time to curse the situation she found herself in. Just the single-minded determination to put one foot in front of the other. To keep going. Because if she stopped, she'd be a couple seconds away from digesting in some monster's stomach.

Sweat ran down her forehead and dripped into her eyes and finally she made it! She grabbed onto the makeshift vine rope, and scrambled up her tree, as quick as her legs could carry her. Almost there…Almost there… Almost there! Finally, she grabbed onto the vines of her nest and pulled herself in. Then she hurriedly pulled the rope up, and plopped down on the floor, making sure to keep hidden. A couple seconds later, she heard the beast chasing her come to the bottom of her tree. Luckily the stupid thing couldn't climb. It simply scratched up the trunk and howled.

She held her breath and strained her ears, as she waited for the stupid animal demon thing to go away. It howled one last time before she heard the thumps of its feet moving away. She laid there for a couple minutes, catching her breath. Then, she reached until her bag made of vines, and grabbed the fruit that made that stupid beast try to attack her, and then she took a gigantic bite.

One mana point acquired! One stamina point acquired! One strength point acquired! The system's mechanical voice sounded in her head, and she grinned. The most important question she had to ask the son of a b**** who dropped her in this land was, why did they have to make her system sound like Siri.

It didn't take her a long while to come to terms that she was isekai-ed. She kind of had to when she went to sleep normal and woke up in the middle of a forest into a body five times smaller than she was used to. But why couldn't she have been reincarnated into a villainess manga. The down on her luck villainess whose royal fiancé was stolen by the female lead, which ultimately led to being relieved of her head by her ex-princely fiancé. Or the mob side character, where she could've dazzled the male leads with her kindness and smartness, and then took the place of the female lead.

She could've stolen the second lead's or maybe even the villain's heart and lived happily ever after. She would've even taken her most despised trope, when the female lead's friends and family treated them terribly, and after she took her place and showed her intelligence by inventing the printing press and showing her spine, everyone would love her.

But no, she had to be reincarnated into a weird world where it seemed like everything was out to kill her. She stared up at the night sky, with the weirdly bright constellations and the two crescent moons. If she wasn't so wary of the creatures of the night, she would've screamed so loud, birds would have flown out the trees. Why couldn't she had been reincarnated in a world where she could've laid around and sipped tea with crumpets?!

The first few days were tough. Adjusting to her new body, the anxiety of constantly being on the edge of starvation and dehydration, finding shelter, being scared shitless. Crying and throwing up because before she was just your normal disabled college student. Now she was stranded in a unknown world, Sure she got use of her legs back, but she was again in a world she knew nothing about, and anything could kill her. So honestly, she would rather be disabled again in her warm comfy bed, using her nice expensive wheelchair as a laptop desk.

But luckily, before she became disabled her parents were big into nature and outdoorsy-ness. So summer was spent camping and her parents wanted to do things the old way, so she learned to make fires and tell the difference between water humans can drink.

So, her first order of business was to find shelter, which she was in luck because the forest was full of gigantic trees, bigger than any she had ever seen on earth. She had found it pretty quickly and used the surrounding foliage to make a nest high up enough so things that couldn't fly couldn't get her and under a big enough branch rain couldn't get to her either.

And then her system kicked in, which came just in time because she was about to get herself killed trying to fish in a nearby river. At first, she didn't know the forest she was in was a murderous magical beast filled forest. At first, she thought she was in a normal forest. So common sense told her to go looking for food and water, and people to hopefully save her. So, she made sure to memorize her tree just in case she had to run back, she used a sharp rock she found to carve a X in the tree and whittle a long, small branch into a spear like object. A girl couldn't be too safe.

So meandered along until she found a river, she knew that she should boil the water first. She was something of a crafter in her day so, out of the vines surrounding her tree, she made a small pouch. Which hopefully wouldn't catch on fire when she tried to boil the water, if she kept it high enough. But as she reached her pouch into the water, she saw something out the corner of her eye. White fur, hoofs, and three horns. Before she could even process the sight, she heard a loud ding, like an old school computer starting up.

Before, the weird Siri like voice could even finish the last syllable of danger, she slowly started to creep backwards into the forest. And once the creature was out of sight, she quickly ran back to her nest, using her rope to climb back into her nest. Her heart beating so loud she could hear it in her ears. WHAT THE F***?!
