LENA’S POINT OF VIEW
Maia hasn’t come back for a week, she texted me and said she’s gonna back today to get her thing and move out. I’m so frustrated because I can’t believe that Maia will leave me at the lowest point of my life. My puffy eyes can’t stop crying since last night Maia told me that she will be moving out, and my sister just called me and gave me weepy news. All my best men get arrests, the girls also waiting for me to get them out, everything just falling apart.
I heard footsteps climb around the 27 stairs and get closer to my room, that’s Maia, she is here. She gets into the bedroom and starts to pack her clothes. I sit in silence on our bed and pretend that she’s not here. Tears come out of my eyes, go down to my cheeks, and dripping down to the last destination, my thighs. “Are you on the phone now?” Maia asks as she unpacks her closet. “Have you seen my passport?” She asks. “It wasn’t in the drawer, either” She says.
