"Pssst,"
Yui ignored the sound.
"Pssst, wake up imouto,"
Yui groaned annoyedly but opened her eyes only to nearly scream the a big figure leaning over her bed with hair falling in front of his face.
"Holy- What are you doing in my room Atsu-nii? You nearly gave me a heart-attack," Yui sat up and clutched her chest. She thought some creep snuck into her room to kill her or something.
"I'm hungry," the giant said ignoring the last statement.
"...Then go get something to eat from the kitchen. Why wake me?"
"...I want you to cook something,"
Yui felt her eye twitch at this child. She glanced at the digital clock on the side and grimaced at the time. 12.30 am.
"Can't you just munch on some snack or something?" Yui really wanted to go back to sleep. She hadn't been able to sleep well the last few nights because of the unfamiliar environment and tonight she actually managed to go off to dreamland. That is until a certain gluttonous brother woke her up.
"I want you to cook something. I won't be able to sleep until you make me food," Atsushi didn't back down.
Yui sighed and reluctantly crawled out of her warm covers and slipped on some slippers. She was wearing a pair of new pyjama shorts and a matching top that Niko had bought for her. The two made their way down stairs when Yui stopped.
"Shhh, do you hear that?" she whispered to her brother. He nodded and came to stand in front of her. There was a clanging in the kitchen and they could hear cupboards being opened. The lights were out so they couldn't see a figure.
"A thief?" Atsushi murmured. He and Yui crept closer to the kitchen with Yui grasping the back of his shirt when a large figure suddenly walked out.
The figure screamed. Yui screamed. Atsushi tackled the figure to the ground.
All of a sudden, there were loud footsteps and the lights were turned on.
"What happened?" Hiroshi ran out. Niko, Sora, and their parents came down the stairway after hearing the noise and saw Atsushi on top of someone. Yui realised someone was missing and took a better look at the figure on the ground groaning in pain.
"Wait a sec, Ryu-nii??"
Atsushi looked down and saw his brother, mouth full of cookies, glaring back at him. He got off and the two stood up.
"What the hell Atsu? Why did you tackle me?" Ryu barked angrily.
"Wait what is going on here?" Their mom spoke. She, like everyone else, thought something bad happened when they heard a scream.
"Atsu-nii and I were going to grab something from the kitchen when heard someone in there. Ryu-nii came out and screamed when he saw us and then I screamed as well. Atsu-nii ended tackling him thinking he was a thief," Yui explained.
"Sorry for waking you all,"
Everyone sighed. It wasn't anything big and Niko grumbled some incoherent words before going back to her room with Hiroshi behind her. Sora yawned and left with the parents and the trio who caused the ruckus were left alone.
"Why are you two here?" Ryu asked a little harshly. He was still upset that he was tackled to the ground by his youngest brother. It hurt his ego.
"Well SOMEONE woke me up and insisted I cook something and wouldn't leave me alone," Yui muttered scratching her head. She glared at Atsushi who pretended not to notice and ushered her into the kitchen.
"That so? Can you cook me something too?" Ryu asked when they entered the kitchen. Yui inwardly rolled her eyes but agreed.
The two brothers sat on the counter chairs and watched as their little sister scampered about gathering various ingredients and prepping them. Ryu offered to help but from previous experience, Yui outright denied him not wanting to risk their safety.
She threw the things in a pan and opened the fridge to get some leftover rice which she mixed with a sauce and cooked that as well. Once everything was ready, she took two plates, poured some rice on it and placed the egg on top then served it to the two starving animals.
"Here, omelette rice."
The brothers stared at the juicy looking dish and quickly began shoving it down their throat. Yui cleaned up her dishes and sat across from them watching them devour their food.
"Phew...that was great Yui-chan," Ryu said leaning back. He patted his now full stomach and and drank a glass of water.
"Arigato...imouto," Atsushi said. He gave Yui a lazy smile and pat her head.
"If that is all then I'll be going back to sleep," She huffed and walked up stairs making a mental note to leave some food in the fridge in case that idiot got hungry again. Sometimes it felt like she was caring for small children in this household. Though Yui complained now and again, she was still very happy living there and couldn't ask for a better family.

"Woah what happened to you?" Aomine asked when he sat down. He, like all the other GOM were curious about Yui's dark eye bags.
"Ask my nii-san," she murmured poking her food. Ever since she was woken up, she wasn't able to sleep again until about 5 am and barely made it though the school day.
Akashi raised an eyebrow at Atsushi who looked a little guilty seeing the state his sister was in.
"She made me a midnight snack," he said. Midorima clicked his tongue and pushed up his glasses, "Let me guess, you forced her to wake up in the middle of the night and wouldn't stop bothering her until she made you something,"
Spot on megane.
"After the past few days, I really needed sleep," Yui said. Atsushi felt even guiltier and let her rest her head on his shoulder.
"What happened the past few days?" Kise asked only to have his head whacked. "Ow, why'd you do that?" he cried fake tears.
"Idiot, she just got adopted. Of course it'll take some time to adjust," Midorima scowled at the blonde.
Just then, Momoi got a message on her phone which she opened. Her eyes widened and she burst out laughing.
"What? What happened?" Aomine asked. She couldn't speak from laughing so much so shoved her phone at him instead.
Both he and Kise looked at it and they ended up rolling on the ground laughing. Everyone was staring at them but they didn't care. Midorima took a look at what they were laughing at and choked while Akashi just looked amused.
"Hmm? What is it?" Atsushi asked.
"Why don't you see for yourself?" Akashi handed him the phone. Yui looked up and peered into it and her face looked shocked.
There in the photo was her and Atsushi crouching behind a trash can wearing ridiculous outfits and unaware of the people pointing fingers at them. On the side were Ryu and Niko looking just as stupid and suspicious.
"W-What were you guys doing?" Momoi managed to get out. Kuroko was absent from school today from a cold so Momoi had sent him the picture.
"It's...a long story but how did you even get that photo?"
"A friend from another class saw you guys and recognised you and took a picture,"
Yui wanted to crawl in a hole and stay there for eternity. Who knows how many more people saw them?
"We weren't doing anything bad...just," Yui went on to tell the whole story of what happened at the mall and the group listened intently.
"Wow Yui, you sure got roped into a crazy family," Kise said leaning on the table.
"I never thought the Murasakibara's were so fun. I thought they'd all all be the same as this guy," Aomine said jabbing a thumb in Atsushi's direction.
"Well I think they're the perfect family. I mean, normal is so boring," Yui grinned. Atsushi pat her head for the 100th time.
"Can't disagree with that. Anything else happened?" Kise asked now interested.
Yui went on to tell them about several cooking incidents and the midnight thief snack incident and a few minor ones and now the GOM and Momoi really wanted to visit their household. Of course Atsushi never invited them despite all the obvious hints and Yui didn't feel it was right for her to invite them so said nothing.
She looked around the table and saw her friends laughing and chatting and felt sad. The time was coming for them to divide and change and she wasn't ready for that. Not one bit.
Thank ya'll for the comments and power stones. I really appreaciate it. This brings us to the end of the first volume.
