Nat

As Thorn left I followed him and closed the door. "Today was a tiring day" I said to myself I looked up at the clock to see what was the time. It was 5pm "oh my, I'm later than usual" I thought to myself I went back to my room and started on the homework. "Finally done!" I said aloud and sigh I headed to the kitchen.

Dad wouldn't be home until very late at night so why don't I make him some food I put on my apron and brought out baking supplies first I would be baking cupcakes, and then I would make a meal for him. I chose the strawberry batter because it was bought of our favorites.

This brought back memories of when I was younger when we used to go strawberry picking this made me grin. I start putting everything together the pour the batter into the cupcake pan I had already preheated the oven at 350F I put the cupcakes in the oven. While they bake I got ready to cook some food today. I took some noodles out of the cupboard and placed them in the boiling water. While it boiled I took out the ground bean sauce, fish sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, and brown sugar then mixed them together.

As I finished mixing the sauces. I opened to oven the cupcakes were ready I put on my oven mitts and took them out the aroma files the room making smelled like a whole bunch of strawberries I took the strawberries and frosting I had already made out of the fridge and put them besides the cupcakes.

While I waited for them to cool off I noticed the noodles were finished I turn off the stove then grabbed my strainer the drained all the water from the noodles and set them aside. In a smaller pans I added a few table spoons of oil then when it started to pop I added the lime leaves, shallots, garlic, galangal, red chili, and finally I added the shrimp, shrimp was also one of me and dad's favorite thing to eat.

I stirred it for about 1 minute then added broccoli stirring while it fried for another 30 seconds. I took the sauce I had made before and pour it in the noodles storing the noodles whiled it fried then I turned the stove off I added a pinch of salt, Thai chili sauce, bean sprouts, and coriander leaves I was finally finished with the meal.

I set it aside to cool down a bit then went back to my cupcakes, they had finally cooled down. I grabbed the frosting beside the pan and carefully iced the cupcakes when I was finished that I gently placed the strawberry on them. I took out two plates I put some of the noodles on 1 then I took out some plastic wrapped and carefully wrapped it. I took a sticky not the wrote Pa on it that's what I called my dad I also took one cupcake and put a sticky note with pa on it I put them both in the fridge.

The room had suddenly gotten so cold I didn't realize it at first because the cooking had probably warmed up the kitchen I walked back to my bedroom and took my earcuffs and hair clip off and placed it on my dresser. Nat went to his closet and pulled out an oversized minimal styled hoodie and some plain shorts then headed to the the bathroom and took a shower.

When he finished dressing and brushing his hair i sighed "Finally I'm done with the day." I thought . I got into the bed grabbing his teddy bear and hugging it to sleep.

3:02am Nat's Pa

"It was a long day at work" I sighed " I'm so hungry" i said taking off his jacket and shoes and headed into the kitchen, I opened up the fridge and to my surprise there was food for me with "pa" written on it this had made my day. I took the food and cupcake out and placed the cupcake on the table then put the food in the microwave. I began walking towards his son's room he knock on the door the said "Nat? Are you awake?" He asked he opened the door light "pa?" Nat said sitting up rubbing his eyes I chuckled my son was always acted like a baby.

I walked into Nat's room and sat beside him. "Thank you for the food" I said Nat gave him a big smile "I hope you like it I'm horrible at cooking" he said. "I think your wrong the food smells delicious" I replied. "Really?" Nat said with puppy eyes. "You know, sometimes you remind me of someone." Nat's eyes got wider "who?" He asked. I got up walked out of the room then a few moment later returned with a picture in my hand and handed it to Nat and sat besides him once again. Nat looked at the picture and said "Dan!" Nat said

"How did you know? I've never told you about my brother Dan" Nat looked at his dad "I had a dream about him but as the person next to him in the picture, Dawn" Nat's dad looked puzzled then his expresssion soften "I'm not surprised" he said chuckling "Sometimes I think your him in another life, so similar even the dot under eye is identical to his the eyes, and the hair too you would be completely identical if you dyed your hair pink. Sometimes I wonder if you've found my brother Dan in another person you've meet Dan and Daw were really closer the closet of friends best friend maybe even.

"Nat's dad said grabbing Nat's chuck and pulling it "paaa" Nat said "ok, ok goodnight son" he said letting of Nat's cheek then messing with his hair. Nat's dad got up wave to his son walked out and closed the door behind him. "Today's was not so bad even though it could have been better.
