Leila noticed his gaze fall on her lips, and her heartbeat sped up, pounding loudly against her chest.
Suddenly, she felt him approach, and by now, the world had already blurred around her. She only saw him in her eyes, and so did he.
His gaze bored deeply into her, and as his face neared hers, he suddenly changed direction, reaching for the necklace around her neck and pulling it out.
"This necklace is quite good," he remarked, his breath brushing her neck. She could smell the cold yet refreshing scent emanating from him.
Leila was stunned, her face flushing with embarrassment as she chided herself.
'What am I thinking?'
"Hmm, it's quite hot," she muttered, fanning her neck.
Jayden raised his eyebrows, and Leila bit her lip, realizing she had blurted out the wrong words. She breathed a sigh of relief when Jayden said nothing about it.
