Volume 1, Second Half, Prologue - 59

The rest of our time on the island passed by without a hitch.

After taking that one day to rest, well, it was mostly me and Elvira snuggling with each other, both of us too afraid to initiate another kiss, we had left immediately the next day on a quest to find Marabelle.

And, surprisingly, only after a few hours of searching, we found her.

She had made her last stand in a cave.

To get to her, we had to walk over several bloodied bodies and severed limbs. Well, scratch that, I was the only that walked through the mess, the other two girls were busy puking outside.

At the end of the cave, I found Marabelle half dead, and immediately brought her out so that Elvira could heal her.

Well, long story short, it took a couple of days, but she was able to successfully make a full recovery, and so, we left the portal.

But, unlike a certain goodie two shoes, we left the portal open, so that others could waste their time.

I for one, did it just to spite Ryker, but the others did it for more, well, I guess, malicious reasons, with their cold, calculating minds.

I guess you guys wouldn't know, but it's extremely hard being in a group full of smart, powerful girls that don't mind trespassing into gray area just to get what they want.

It's extremely scary actually.

The only good thing was that Marabelle still thought that I was a girl, and the other two girls were willing to keep my secret until the final reveal that I had planned.

Well, after getting out of the portal, we set to creating a society, as that was one of the tasks that could earn us the most rank points.

With our small society of 4 people, we, at first, raided other societies, destroying them, and then assimilating their people into ours.

This cycle went over and over again, and it worked extremely efficiently, as our biggest threat, Ryker and his party, were stuck in a portal somewhere, maybe even in the portal we left open, desperately trying to find the boss monster.

So, by the end of the test, we controlled the entire island except for some rebel groups, which in turn, gave us four the most points out of everyone else.

And then, finally, when we saw the ship coming towards us in the distance, we knew that our test was over.

The teachers teleported all the students onto a humongous beach, where they announced the results, and then the rank changes.

5. Elvira - 1121 RP (A/N: She never participated with the original three in their grinding spree.)

'Hmm... I was worried about what name was going to show up for me, but, I forgot that Xion is still protecting me.'

I was happy that Ryker was put even more in his place, as Primrose surpassed him in the rankings.

Also, Marabelle had broken into the top 10.

Those were the biggest and most eye-catching changes for me.

Well, anyways, after the results were announced and they said some stuff about how a few students had died due to monsters, well, they failed to mention the 1 death due to the demonic humans, and some other stuff, they finally allowed us to board the boat again and take a much needed rest.

It was during this time that I finally revealed myself as "Ashen" to Marabelle.

Needless to say, she was furious, and even blushed uncontrollably after some time, probably remembering our baths together, but well, she was more furious. (A/N: Yes, multiple "baths".)

Let's just say, I rarely left my room for the rest of the boat ride back unless I was with one of the other girls.

So, let us summarize it all up.

During this trip, "Akina" had accomplished some things.

First and foremost, "she" had beaten a (D+) ranked boss monster.

Second, "she" had gotten the most points that "she" could possibly get out of the test.

Third, "she" had seen a naked girl's body.

...

Cough, cough... I mean, "she" had been able to spite a few more people.

"She" obviously wouldn't be hung up on this matter, as "she" had seen "her" sister's naked body many times back in "her" previous life.

Yep, definitely...

Anyways, as "Akina" left the island, "she" had put an impression on many people.

Well, Marabelle still thought of "her" as Akimitsu/Ashen/Other Transmigrator after the reveal, so nothing had changed.

Primrose now thought of "her" as Ashen, the number 1 ranked in the school, and the strongest.

Elvira thought of "her" as her best friend and now, lover: Akimitsu, a former spy for Raikato.

Overall, it was a huge mess that I had to circumvent carefully, so that certain girls wouldn't learn things that they shouldn't, at least at this point in time.

It really was an information game.

Well, with all of that wrapped up, I just spent the rest of the time on the boat relaxing, talking to Primrose, and having a date or two with Elvira.

Overall, it was a happy time.

A sort of calm after the storm.

Of course, it could be the calm before the storm, but now, I would never know, as I had messed up the present enough, so much so, that the future of the world was going to be nothing like what the author had originally written in their novel.

The figurative "butterfly" had created a "hurricane", and now, the "land" was a mess. In this case, the "land" was the "future".

From this point forward, everything would be new territory.

So I could only rely on myself now.

To protect the people I love.

To become stronger.

To survive.

As these were the most important things to me in life.

And I would do anything to accomplish them.
