Emma's POV

I swallowed my words and asked Hector, "You won't answer it?"

Hector hesitated for a moment, put down the cotton swab with medicine, and answered the FaceTime call.

"Hector, where are you? Can you come to the hospital? I'm having a check-up today, and I want you to be with me as the baby's father. Can you?"

Thea's voice was sweet and delicate, but clear enough for me to hear.

"Sure, I'll come right away."

Hector's answer was without hesitation.

It was evident that he truly cared about Thea and their child.

Thinking about my own two little ones in my belly, they might never have a chance to experience their father's love.

My heart felt incredibly bitter.

Hector stayed by my side and didn't leave. I looked up and urged him, "It's okay, go ahead. They're waiting anxiously, and I can apply the rest of the medicine by myself."

"Are you sure you can do it yourself?"
