46. Adrienette & Lukagami

As the two teenage superheroes sat in their seats with their kwamis hovering nearby, there was a moment of awkward silence between Marinette broke it by gently asking with a sad and sorry look, "So...how are you doing? With the whole "my father is a magical terrorist" thing?"

"Honestly? I'm still hurting, but I'm managing. Having you and everybody else here offering me support has really helped. Except for Lila, of course," Adrien said with a sad look before giving a small chuckle when mentioning Lila in which Marinette also chuckled back. "And I guess it's a good thing we now know Hawk Moth's identity so that we can gain the upper hand in this Miraculous war. But I can't help thinking that if I hadn't got my Miraculous, I would've helped him since he's doing what he's doing to help my mother."

"Adrien, you cannot think like that!" Tikki said to her fellow kwami's holder as she hovered near him. "We all know that both you and your father love your mother, but loving someone also means knowing them. And you love your mother enough to know that she wouldn't want your father to help her at the expense of innocent people."

"Tikki's right, kid! No matter what his reasons are, if he is willing to hurt innocent people, your dad has definitely lost his marbles!" Plagg added.

"You guys are right. I just hope there is some way that we could stop my father without actually having to fight him. Because I still care about him and now I know he still cares about me," Adrien said, sadly looking down.

"I hope for that too, Adrien, but I don't think it's going to be as simple if he's willing to go this far for your mother," Marinette said honestly. "But we will figure this out. I promise I will figure it out because I love you so much and the last thing I want is for you to get hurt."

"I love you too, m'lady," Adrien replied back and the two shared a passionate kiss, making Tikki swoon and Plagg gag.

"Ugh! OK, enough with the mushy stuff, you two! Let's get some shut-eye!" Plagg said, making the two break away from their kiss and Tikki sigh in annoyance. The two and their kwamis then bid good night to each other before heading to their respective rooms. What they didn't know is that they were being eavesdropped by Kagami, who then sadly sighed before making her way back to her bedroom before she caught the feeling that someone was behind her. As a reflex, she then grabbed that someone by the wrist and flipped him over before realizing who it was: Luka!

"Ow!" Luka said in pain on the floor, making Kagami blush in embarrassment.

"Oops! I'm sorry, Luka. I thought you would be Lila or someone I'd despise," Kagami said, still red in embarrassment as she helped Luka up.

"No problem," Luka said as he still groaned from the pain. "Were you eavesdropping on Marinette and Adrien?"

"Um…,yes I was," Kagami said, tempted to lie but then thought differently as she looked into Luka's eyes. "I apologize. I realize it was pretty undignified and I didn't actually intend to."

"Oh, don't worry about it. I'd be pretty tempted to, considering...well, you know," Luka implied about his feelings for Marinette in which Kagami immediately caught his drift and nodded in understanding as she has similar feelings for Adrien. "It seems like you and I are playing the same tune right now: genuine happiness with a touch of melancholy."

"That is amazingly accurate," Kagami said as she slowly smiled. "I'm curious. Not that Marinette is repulsive, but what exactly made you fall for her?"

"Because Marinette's a genuinely beautiful person, inside and out. First of all, she's not bad on the eyes," Luka started talking about Marinette once he started thinking about her. "She prioritizes everyone around her before herself and does everything she can to make all of us happy. She's also always so humble where despite her many great accomplishments, she still has self-doubts and acknowledges that she has flaws like her clumsiness or stuttering when it comes to Adrien. She's even honest about her feelings once I started being honest about mine towards her. So basically, I loved her for her kind, honest, humble, and charitable heart."

"Very accurate and beautiful explanation," Kagami commented.

"How about you? What made you develop feelings for Adrien?" Luka asked Kagami back curiously.

"Well, he's not bad on the eyes either. You know, him being a model and all," Kagami started talking about Adrien once she started thinking about him while Luka chuckled. "Like Marinette, he also has a kind and caring heart. But what made me develop actual feelings for Adrien is for his understanding and sympathy. Like Adrien, I grew up rich and privileged with one strict and less permissive parent who has very high expectations of me. Except for being Hawk Moth, my mother is just like Gabriel Agreste: strict, hard on me, always had me striving for perfection, and doesn't very much like the idea of me having friends. Adrien was always safe to talk to and be genuine with because he knows exactly what I'm going through in my life and it has helped me get through the strict routine my mother has put me through."

"Mmmm," Luka said in response as he is deep in thought.

"What?" Kagami asked.

"I think I have found the perfect melody for you. If only I had my guitar, I would play a tune that sounds determined and fiery, but with just a hint of a more quiet and kind vulnerability," Luka explained his opinion of Kagami.

"I would love to see you take on that challenge and hear it sometime," Kagami said with a chuckle and a blush in which Luka blushed back.

"Be glad to," Luka replied and the two faced each other, still blushing.

"Well, thank you for the conversation, Luka. It has really helped me navigate my feelings which could potentially help me get over them," Kagami said to the blue-haired boy with a smile.

"Likewise," Luka replied back, also with a smile towards the Japanese girl. "Well, anyway, good night."

"Good night," Kagami said back as the two headed back to their respective rooms.
