A Failed Plan

Edward trembled, his voice quivering as he asked, "How... did you know about that...?"

Professor Beau rolled his eyes at his nephew, his anger palpable as he bellowed with heavy panting, "Because I do."

Edward responded with a mix of excitement and apprehension, "Please, Uncle Beau, I never meant to expose myself!"

"Never?"

"Never!" Edward cried out defensively, "I just wanted to achieve the highest scores to secure a place at Walters."

Professor Beau let out a sneering snort, his tone dripping with disdain, "Even with this, you won't be able to make it to Walters."

Edward looked up abruptly, his expression a mixture of confusion and concern, "What do you mean?"

"It needs more than just scores," Professor Beau said darkly.

"But... I thought you would help me!" Edward burst out, desperation evident in his voice. "With connections, or something like that?"
