Chapter 14: Plotting to Kill a Witch

We sat in silence as every single person in the room gave Isach sh*t about what he'd done. I took a little bit of satisfaction in watching him squirm and grovel. In the way of punishment, he was getting off easy. Finally, Isach recounted the story of how he was planning to double cross Ivy, how she found out and planned to kill him and the rest of us, and how he chose to fake his own death. If I didn't have to listen to that story again in my lifetime it would still be too soon.

"So, other than hiding you away from the world, what does she" - Whitney pointed at Piper - "have to do with any of this?"

"What Isach failed to tell you is that there's only one other coven more powerful than the Zoya." Piper stood, and I was quick to follow. Not that I truly thought anyone here would physically harm Piper, but my actions were purely instinctual. I hadn't even realized what I was doing. "And we're willing to help."

Wyatt turned to look at her. "What coven?"
