Chapter 137: Sophie: Stepping Over the Threshold

"I'm going to go call my wife and check-in," Isach said, his tone wary. Exhaustion hung on his features. "I'll see if they have any information about Jax and Piper."

"Thank you." I gave him a grateful smile. "As long as they stay out of trouble and away from here, we can do what needs to be done. I just don't want Jax doing anything stupid."

Isach barked out a harsh laugh. "Have you ever met Jax?"

I couldn't help but laugh, too, even though there was nothing remotely funny about this situation. "Yes, but I know my sister, and if anyone can keep him in line, she can."

"True." Isach nodded and rubbed at the back of his neck. "Alright, I guess I'll see you all tomorrow. Unless something major happens, then I'll be in touch tonight."

"Thanks, Isach." Peyton momentarily rested her hand on Isach's arm, and then he left, his coven following him out of the room.

"Now what?" Sabella asked, her gaze bouncing from me to Prince Gregory to Peyton.
